Back to School Bundles - This weekend, Live 58 Clothes for Kids bundled and donated approximately 87 bundles of back to school clothes to Growing Past Today. Growing Past Today then delivered approximately 62 of the 87 bundles to Saint John’s Program for Real Change. Saint John’s is a residential program for women and children struggling with homelessness, domestic violence and substance use in the Sacramento region. Thanks to Live 58, students residing with their mothers at St. John’s started school with new clothes.
The remaining bundles will be delivered to students Growing Past Today in the Sacramento area.

Wow, our partners know how to Spring Forward! On Saturday Growing Past Today, Hope Neighborhood Learning Center, and Christian Brothers hosted the 3rd Annual Spring Forward event. Spring Forward is an opportunity for the community to celebrate and acknowledge Hope Neighborhood Learning Center students, past and present. During the 3rd Annual Spring Forward event students and their families enjoyed a meal prepared by Fair Oaks Rotary, received essential items from community partners, and partied with Christian Brother athletes, club members, and our partners. A huge thank you to Christian Brothers and our community partners - the kids had a blast!

The Orange Theory Fair Oaks studio showed its endurance, strength, and power this holiday season providing gifts for unhoused youth Growing Past Today. Thank you Orange Theory coaches, staff, and members for going All Out!

This morning, Hope Neighborhood Learning Center students and kids Growing Past Today experienced the Christmas spirit at the Let It Snow Toy Project. Santa’s elves guided the kids through Santa’s workshop to select toys, gift cards, bikes, scooters, and more. After posing for pictures with Santa, the kids dashed off to Katie Yount’s State Farm hot chocolate tent. A warm welcome and comfort in a cup, plus marshmellows, whipped cream, and a lot of sprinkles.

This afternoon volunteers delivered special holiday food boxes, holiday decorations, and unwrapped presents from the Orangevale-Fair Oaks Food Bank, Divine Savor, and the Orangevale Rotary Club to kids Growing Past Today and their families. The packing elves thought of everything including cat and dog food for the four-legged friends.

Yesterday children were laughing and people were passing smile after smile during the Community Meal and Movie night hosted by Alchemist and the Sacramento City Unified School District. A Growing Past Today volunteer and Live 58 member distributed warm clothes bundled with care by the Live 58 Clothes for Kids team.

Today, Mrs. Woolford’s 5th Grade Class donated gift-wrapped hygiene products, markers, coloring books, stuffed animals, and more to Growing Past Today for delivery to unhoused students in the greater Sacramento area.
Perhaps the greatest gifts of all are the handwritten notes from one student to another.

Although it’s been said many times, many ways, thank you Live 58 for your continued partnership and support of kids Growing Past Today.
Once again, Live 58 invited Growing Past Today to submit holiday wish lists for kids and their caregivers. In a few short weeks the magic, miracles, and hard work happened. This morning wrapped presents for 60 kids and 32 caregivers appeared under the tree, in the conference room, and by every door. It didn’t take long for the sleigh bells to start ringing. This afternoon, Live 58 members and Growing Past Today volunteers delivered presents to an amazing Hope Neighborhood Learning Center student and her extended family.
In the coming days, Growing Past Today volunteers, Live 58 members, Hope NLC volunteers, educators, and social workers will deliver more gifts to kids and caregivers throughout the greater Sacramento area.
