It's Throwback Thursday! Here's a memory from June:

What do you do on a Tuesday night in June? You go into the city to see one of your former students STAR in the Broadway musical OPERATION MINCEMEAT!! Julia Knitel, Forrest School alum and Tony nominee, did a FABULOUS job in this hilarious show! Singing, dancing, comedy, what more could you want? After the show, she took us backstage for a private tour! What an experience! SO PROUD OF YOU, JULIA! The show is a MUST-SEE! 🎭✨

It's Flashback Friday! Here's a recent memory from June:

Edison integrated educator and Hawthorne Board of Education Vice President Erica Mulkey delivered an inspiring speech to the middle school graduating class of 2026, and handed out diplomas to the high school graduates! 🎓

Erica said, “It was an honor to come full circle, as I graduated from Hawthorne High in 2002.”

We are so proud to have our FLEA members involved in all facets of education!

Forrest staff felt so appreciated, thanks to our AWESOME PTA! We were well taken care of with snacks in the teachers' room, a catered luncheon in the middle of the week, and a Friday coffee truck!

It's Throwback Thursday! Here are a few memories reported from Forrest School:

March: Forrest School came out to celebrate their Care Plus Clinician, Sophia Scholes, at a bridal shower in her honor at Mezza Mediterranean in Westwood! Good food and fun were had by all. Forrest School also celebrated Sophia with an after-school bridal shower, where cake and sparkling cider were on hand to toast our beloved colleague!

May: Forrest staff celebrated at Sophia's wedding. It was such a happy time filled with great friends, food, and music! Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Giordano! 💍✨

The Fabulous Four were celebrated all week as they retire after a combined total of over 100 years of dedication to the students of Fair Lawn. Janet DeMase, Connie Mallon, Lisa Eis, and Michele Sonye will be greatly missed. We are so lucky to have had them at Edison School working with our youngest learners, and we wish them the happiest and healthiest retirement. Have a wonderful summer, ladies!

It's Throwback Thursday! Here's a memory from April:

Forrest Elementary School honored its hard-working paraprofessionals in April with a special breakfast celebrating all that they do! 🍩 We wanted to make sure they "donut" ever doubt the difference they make in our students' lives. Yummy treats and DD gift cards—YAY!

The last group honored at the FLEA Dinner was our retirees. We had an exceptionally large group of retirees this year. In fact, it was so large that we couldn't get them all into one picture before their colleagues and family came up to separate them into smaller group shots! Hopefully, between these three pictures, we were able to include each retiree who was present at the dinner!

These members have dedicated their careers to our students, and we wish them all the happiness in the world as they start this new chapter in their lives.

The Fair Lawn Education Association had a booth at today's Fair Lawn Street Fair. We had bags to give away, a raffle for people to enter, and two craft activities for kids to do! Despite the wind and the sudden rain storm, it was a great day for a street fair and to be out in the community!
