Southern District YMCA / Exeter Area YMCA For Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility. The Official Page of the Exeter Area YMCA

The Southern District YMCA has been serving area youth and families since 1926 out of Kingston, NH. While camping has historically been a primary focus, after school programs, health and wellness, leadership, teen and family programming has filled the community void. Since 1926, over 150,000 youth and 10,000 staff have spent part of their life building healthy spirit, body and mind in the Y tradit

ion through Southern District YMCA programs. At the Y, we have always known that positive change only comes when we invest in our kids, our health and our neighbors. The form in which the Southern District YMCA delivers its programs and activities and fulfills its historic mission of community service is driven by the support provided by generous families, individuals and organizations in the area.

Update on the roundabout from the Town of Exeter, NH

🚧 Roundabout Project Update & Back-to-School Traffic Notice 🚧
The Front, Linden, and Pine Street Roundabout Project is nearing completion. However, due to a concrete additive shipping delay, the planned reopening has been tentatively rescheduled to Thursday, September 3rd (weather permitting).
As Monday marks the first day of school for the SAU 16 community, the updated schedule has been communicated to school officials and local bus companies.
For everyone's safety:
🚓 Police officers will be present to assist with traffic flow
🚸 Crossing guards will be stationed in multiple areas to support Lincoln Street School foot traffic
↔️ Gill Street will remain two-way traffic
🚗 Motorists should continue to follow the established traffic detour routes
🚶 Pedestrians will be permitted through the area with the assistance of flaggers
To improve traffic flow during the delay, the road closure area will be modified to allow traffic access up to Seminary Ln.
⚠️ Drivers are asked to use extra caution on Monday. In addition to traffic detours, students, parents, buses, and school staff will be adjusting to first-day-of-school traffic patterns.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as the contractor works to complete this important project.

As the last day of Camp Lincoln’s 100th summer is here, we’re taking a moment to look back at the stories, memories, and people who have made Camp Lincoln so special for generations. 💚

This video brings together interviews, memories, and reflections shared during Camp Lincoln’s 100th Summer Celebration on July 25–26, 2026.

For 100 summers, Camp Lincoln has been a place to grow, explore, build friendships, and create memories that last far beyond the final day of camp.

As we close out this incredible centennial summer, we celebrate everyone who has been part of Camp Lincoln’s story—past, present, and future.

Here’s to 100 summers of memories—and to the next 100. 🏕️💚

Today, we were excited to welcome a wheelchair rugby team to the Exeter Area YMCA! 🏐♿💙

Wheelchair rugby is an exciting Paralympic sport, and we’re especially proud of our own Youth Program staff member, Cohl, who has been training for more than two years with the goal of competing in the 2028 Paralympic Games.

Northeast Passage empowers individuals with disabilities to define, pursue, and achieve their goals through therapeutic recreation and adaptive sports. We’re grateful for the opportunity to host this incredible group and see adaptive sports in action.

Thank you to Northeast Passage and everyone who joined us today! 💪💙
