Today hit in a way we didn't expect.
A close friend of OSCC was at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute -Chestnut Hill location for a PET Scan and came across PJ's plaque-the one put up earlier this year in his and Doctor Brad McGregor's honor. Holly sent us this photo and it really touched us.
THIS is why we exist...why OSCC was created in the first place, because of PJ, his fight, his support of research, his strength and the way he refused to let cancer take away his hope. Even on his hardest days, he wanted to make things better for the next person walking into Dana-Farber, scared and exhausted and unsure of what comes next.
We lost PJ in January and not a day goes by that we don't feel the hole he left. But seeing our friend in the middle of her own fight, standing in front of PJ's tribute feels like PJ is reaching out, reminding us he is still part of this somehow, making sure Holly is not facing this alone.
Holly, we are all behind you, all the way!
And to everyone who has supported Ocean State Cancer Crushers over the years, this is PJ's legacy in real time! This is what your support turns into....connection, comfort and reminders that even in the hardest moments, we are still in this together. -Mass Challenge 🚵♀️
