The formation of a “Green Team” is the first step in establishing a community sustainability program. The Green Teams leverage the skills and expertise of team members to develop plans, implement programs, and assist with educational opportunities that support the creation of a sustainable community. The role is to lead and coordinate the sustainability activities of the community. Our team create

programs under the direction of The Sustainable Jersey; a certification program for municipalities in New Jersey that want to GO GREEN, save money, and take steps to sustain their quality of life that will endure over time. Sustainable Jersey:

Now more than ever with the heat event suffocating us is when we realize the value that trees bring to our neighborhoods. Join us in our campaign to plant more trees in Ewing. Plant a tree in your yard as a part of our 250 Trees for 250 Years campaign. You may have heard the saying, "The first best time to plant a tree is 20 years ago. The second-best time is today."

Thanks to Surface Technology Inc. on Lower Ferry Road for adding to the count toward our 250 Tree goal for 2026 by planting a dogwood tree for shade on their grounds. They are a recognized "green business" in town and we thank them for always stepping up to the plate. We invite other businesses and residents in town to join them in planting trees on their grounds too.
