VFW Post 12138 Surgeon would like to remind you to stay safe in the summer heat. ☀️

Summer heat can be dangerous - especially for our older veterans.

Take a minute to review these simple heat safety tips and don’t forget to check on a fellow veteran, neighbor, or loved one. A quick phone call or visit could make all the difference.

TCAVA Update: While we were electing new national leadership yesterday, Sen. Blumenthal and Sen. Moran were squaring off on the Senate floor, each presenting competing motions to pass TCAVA. Both failed. The bottom line remains: NO CUTS. Remove Section 108. Let’s keep up the pressure! Contact Congress now!

Ladies and gentlemen, VETERANS- while we were here at the 127th VFW National Convention- the Senate was trying to push the TCAVA bill through with section 108 included. This section supports reducing claims for FUTURE veterans.

While some organizations support this - FUTURE VETERANS do not deserve to have future benefits cut! New Veterans should not foot the bill at such a steep cost. Please let your elected officials know that taking care of veterans does not mean to take away benefits from one group of Veterans to fund another! BOTH CAN BE DONE!

Join us at the National Convention in telling our elected officials we do not support this section follow the link below to help- it’s your voice that will make a difference.

Forward this link, share this post get the word out- Future Veterans should not receive less benefit to fund other parts of the TCAVA Bill - in this UNPRECEDENTED move.

Today we started off with a guest speaker and MOH recipient from the American Battle Monuments Commission. A very important organization, instrumental in reminding us all of what the cost of freedom truly is, and why we raised our right hand and swore to defend our way of life.
