Reid State Community College was proud to host Feeding the Gulf Coast on Wednesday, June 17, at the Edith A. Gray Library, where approximately 50 representatives from local food pantries, community organizations, and service agencies gathered to discuss food needs across the region.
Cindy Bloom, Director of Operations for Feeding the Gulf Coast, presented statistics from a recent community needs assessment, highlighting food access challenges and the growing demand for assistance throughout South Alabama. She was joined by FGC CEO Michael Ledger, who also spoke about the challenges nonprofit food agencies face in today’s changing financial environment.
The Reid State Foundation is proud to be a member agency of Feeding the Gulf Coast through the Lions Pantry, located in the Reid State Student Center, which supports Reid State students facing food insecurity.
