Please join us TOMORROW at 9:30 a.m. as we clean up one little piece of our mountain community! Everyone is welcome! The more people who show up, the quicker it will go and the more fun we’ll have. Hardy folks that we are, we will meet rain, snow, or shine!

Our adopted highway is the section of Highway 73 from North Turkey Creek Rd to Grey Fox Drive. We will meet at the lower main parking lot of Aspen Ridge Church, 27154 N. Turkey Creek Rd located at the southeast corner of North Turkey Creek Rd and Highway 73 in Marshdale.

Safety vests and trash bags will be provided. Participants should wear hats, long-sleeved shirts, long pants, hard-soled shoes, and gloves. Children younger than 18 should be accompanied by a parent or arranged to sign the Jefferson Co. liability waiver beforehand.

Join us in just two days for our October chapter meeting! We will be joined by Jessica Moore, Evergreen Fire Rescue’s Wildland Project Coordinator. This more formal presentation will speak to the programs offered for the community through Evergreen Fire Rescue’s Wildland Division as well as a greater forest health and overall fire risk perspective. The presentation will be conversational and informative, with ample time for questions.

Happening this Tuesday, Oct 6th, from 6-8pm at the Church of the Transfiguration next to Evergreen Nature Center.

This Saturday’s family program theme is Marvelous Macros! Happening tomorrow, September 26th from 11am-12pm.

Monthly Morning Birds & Brews is this Friday, September 25th, 8:30–10am at the Evergreen Nature Center and meadow. Strap on your binoculars and join us! We will provide coffee, hot water, tea, and hot cocoa packets. Just bring your own thermos. FREE and all are welcome!

We also have a few extra pairs of binoculars to borrow if needed. See you there!

Join Evergreen Audubon on the third Saturday of each month for a birding walk along the Front Range! This month, we’ll explore Birch Hill, a Denver Mountain Park on the edge of Morrison & Indian Hills. All ages and birding abilities welcome!

We’ll be watching for a variety of warblers, vireos, woodpeckers, nuthatches, and raptors. If we’re lucky, we might flush a Dusty Grouse, hear a Brown Creeper, or spot a late-season Black-chinned Hummingbird.

We’ll meet at Birch Hill, off N. Turkey Creek Rd., at 8:00 am on September 19th. Once we know who’s joining us, we’ll figure out the best carpooling and meetup options.

Bring binoculars, weather-appropriate clothes, water, and a snack! This event is FREE, but registration is required. Want to become a Wildlife Watch volunteer, or refresh your training? Join us in one week for a virtual fall training refresher session on Tuesday, September 15th from 6-7pm!

Wildlife Watch is a collaborative program supported by Evergreen Audubon, Denver Parks & Recreation, and Wild Aware. Our mission is to foster wildlife awareness, safety and appreciation in our mountain community. Volunteers educate visitors at Evergreen Lake on how to recreate responsibly while sharing space with our wildlife. This time, we’ll focus on best wildlife etiquette for the fall, especially with it being elk rut season.
