Our watershed series is back! This summer, Evergreen Audubon will join with Evergreen Metro District in a program discussing Bear Creek, the animals and plants that live in its watershed, and more details of a healthy water ecosystem 🏞️🏞️

Come join us at our first session in less than two weeks, on Wednesday, June 17th from 5:30-7:00pm at the Evergreen Nature Center, with the theme “Wildlife in Our Watershed.” Two more sessions will follow: “What’s in Your Backyard?” on July 15th, and “All About Algae” on August 19th.

Reminder! 🐦🔍 Evergreen Audubon is teaming up with Mountain Area Land Trust (MALT) for the first ever Birding Bio-Blitz Event in Fairplay, this next Saturday, June 13th, at 7am at Sacramento Creek Ranch.

This survey will help uncover the diversity of bird species in Colorado’s South Park Region, helping to protect local ecosystems. Bring a friend (or several) as we head out at Sacramento Creek Ranch and Pennsylvania Mountain to count some birds!

Evergreen Audubon & Nature Center’s 6th Annual Native Plant Sale Tomorrow at the Evergreen Nature Center!

We promote the use of native plants in gardens and green spaces in Evergreen and surrounding communities. Native plants are important to pollinators, birds, and local wildlife, and they require less water and little to no fertilizer. Not only that, some of them are deer and elk resistant. Give nature a helping hand and plant a native garden this spring!

Plants sell quickly so please arrive at the start of the event (no early shopping).
Please bring your own box for carrying your plants.

June 5, 5–8:30pm, Elks Lodge, Evergreen.. with a live raptor visit!

Join us for an evening of delicious appetizers, libations, great company, and the opportunity to raise funds to support Evergreen Audubon & Evergreen Nature Center. There will be silent and live auctions, a “Buy Now” table, paddle raises, raffles, a “Beak or Talons” fundraising game, and other activities to entertain you.

The Preschool Program is every Thursday 9–10am at the Evergreen Nature Center. Bring your little one each week to develop their early childhood readiness skills through nature exploration! Practice fine motor skills, literacy comprehension, and more.

These programs are designed for children ages 2-5 years old. All children must have an adult in attendance. Come dressed to explore the outdoors!

This program is completely FREE and no registration is needed. It runs for approximately 45 – 60 minutes.

Bird Banding Visit at Chatfield - coming up Wed, May 20

Visit the seasonal bird banding station operated by Bird Conservancy of the Rockies at Denver Audubon’s Nature Center at Chatfield. This is a fantastic opportunity to see birds up close as Bird Conservancy Staff capture, band, and release migrating and local songbirds as part of their long-term monitoring to understand bird populations and trends. Bring the whole family!
