Subie here was lost and alone in the wilderness surrounding a ranch we maintain.
While she has apparently been sighted on and off for OVER 2 months, she was just recently accused of going after their live stock which was a condemning offense.
She was hungry, scared, alone and yet wagged her tail the moment we first crossed paths.. so with no time to wait we jumped into action to attempt a resuce.
I knew then that this "Vicious Dog/Coyote/wolf" was nothing more than a puppy who got left behind, raiding trash/compost piles for something, anything to eat.
Considering the property and surrounding woodlands have plenty of documented Bobcats and Bears, I was confident this was more so a case of misplaced blame.
We had 3 run ins; 2 resulted in run offs but on the 3rd encounter she took the chance and left the wilderness behind for a better life.
With her original owners-
(who moved but "couldn't catch her when she slipped out".. somehow/ someway conveniently arriving on the neighboring property, just as we exited the woods)
-approval, we took over ownership.
So far at our ranch: NCSC Headquarters, we have gained 2 new water fowl, & she pays them no mind, she's innocent 😅
(I suspect she was simply caught scavenging the left overs of the actual predatory animals.)
Our first Rescue Deputy, is loving having a friend at home!
We're so proud of him as he's been unbelievably helpful with getting her settling in.
