EVENT REMINDER! Kim Toskey is resuming teaching the WSHFC 5-hour homebuyers' education class, which is the class that is required to access below-market interest rates for CLT buyers, as well as many of the down payment assistance programs including the Covenant Homeownership Program.

These classes are being taught with Susan Romei of Banner Bank both THIS SATURDAY, February 22nd and Saturday, March 22nd both from 10:00am - 3:30pm at The Village on Casino Road! Spanish interpreters are available upon request.

Homes and Hope Community Land Trust is looking for new Board Members!

If you have lived experience with housing or food insecurity, disability, immigration, OR work experience in affordable housing, Resource Support, Construction & Development, or Financial Planning experience, then you have what we need to help bring our mission of homeownership with perpetual affordability to Snohomish County.

Though not a requirement, if you live in east or north Snohomish County, your experience and input would be greatly appreciated as we are looking to expand the geographical area our board resides. Bilingual individuals are also encouraged to apply as we serve many immigrant clients with questions about our organization and processes.

HHCLT Board Members can expect ten meetings and about six community events (with need for volunteers) per year. Our next Annual Meeting will be held March 25th from 4:00pm - 6:00pm at The Village, 14 E Casino Road, Everett, WA; Here you can meet our existing Board Members and ask any questions you may have about our organization and mission.

If you have questions beforehand, please don't hesitate to ask. We hope to see you at our 3/25 Annual Meeting!

New Financial Education course from HHCLT! Kim Toskey with her decades of mortgage, teaching, and financial education experience, will be hosting Money Matters for Teens & Young Adults. Parents are also welcome to attend and learn about topics such as budgeting, savings, credit, basic investing, and more.

These courses start in-person at The Village on Casino Road on February 27th, and go every Thursday through April 3rd. Courses will be held from 3:30pm - 5:00pm, and Zoom links for Wednesday "pop-in" times can be provided upon request.

We look forward to educating our community's youth and their families about modern financial topics!

ONLINE TOMORROW NIGHT:

The Kicking Gas Campaign is on a mission to support our community members in taking the next step to transition to All Electric Homes. In addition to sharing resources about ductless heat pumps, we will be providing subsidies for electric cooking (as well as hot water heating as of late-2024), to further help decarbonize our region, avoid the serious health dangers of indoor fossil fuel combustion, and strengthen community in the face of climate challenges today and in the future.

Right now we are operating on Bainbridge Island, Island County, and Snohomish County.
