Snohomish County Music Teachers Association SCMTA welcomes inquiries from those looking for music teachers and from independent music teachers interested in joining the organization!

Mission Statement:

To provide education, training, and association for independent music teachers in Snohomish County, and to promote music education for students in Snohomish County and the greater Seattle community. Purpose:
To offer membership to independent music teachers. To feature speakers at our monthly meetings for the educational enrichment of our teachers. To provide grants to o

ur teachers for continuing their music education. To establish and support opportunities for performance and for unique music education programs for youth, which will help them develop necessary life skills and lead to good citizenship. Objectives:

The Snohomish County Music Teachers Association (SCMTA) is a subchapter of both Music Teachers National Association and the Washington State Music Teachers Association. As such, it also supports and contributes to their programs, which include:

State and National certification of members. Professional fraternity among music teachers. The maintenance of high ethical standards. Mutual improvement in teaching by the interchange of ideas. The furtherance of music culture to benefit our communities.

We’re so excited for the “Young Artists Concert” tomorrow with the Mukilteo Community Orchestra featuring five students performing piano concertos by Bach, Haydn, Mozart, Shostakovich!

2:00PM at Rosehill Community Center, 304 Lincoln Ave, Mukilteo

The Steinway Grand has been tuned, the hall is awaiting 350+ chairs for the audience, and the soloists as well as the orchestra is excited to perform for you tomorrow, Sunday March 10, 2019.
Director's talk begins at 1:20, downbeat for Dvorak's "New World Symphony is 2:00.
We don't want any hiccups because of the beginning of Daylight Saving Time, so please check your timing.

Today is the day! Come hear 5 talented young artists perform in a FREE concert with the Mukilteo Community Orchestra! The concert is at 2:00PM at the Rosehill Community Center in Mukilteo. These artists were chosen as the top competitors the Snohomish County Music Teachers Association Concerto Competition last October. Come hear works by Mozart, Rachmaninoff, Chopin, Haydn, and Lalo!
