Our weekly series of SCYC singer highlights continues! This singer is in our youngest ensemble, but has already become one of our more experienced choristers through their dedication to participating in choir events. Here are their thoughts on being in SCYC:

"I love choir because I make a lot of friends. My favorite memory was singing 'Siúil a Rúin' because it was in a different language. Singing songs in a different language makes me feel connected to the world. I like choir because I meet new people and we make beautiful music together."

We're highlighting our SCYC singers! This singer has been taking voice and other music lessons since childhood, but only joined SCYC two years ago. Asked about their experience, they say:

"I have learned so much with this choir and with Mrs. Karin. They have provided me both music and fun!"

We love performing for our families! Every summer program includes a chance to share what we've learned. This sweet little video clip is from a one-day bootcamp a few years ago. Campers learned multiple songs in about three hours, and were ready to share them with family before they went home.
This year, we're doing a four-day camp, with a family performance scheduled for the final day. We hope families are getting excited!

We're starting a weekly series of SCYC singer stories! And we're starting with a student in our Bella Coro ensemble. This student has grown quickly over the years, and is currently the youngest member of Bella Coro. Here's what they have to say about SCYC:

"Joining choir has been freeing. Music is such an important way of expressing myself, and I'm so glad I get to sing with such wonderful people. Music allows me and many others to get angry, happy, sad, frustrated, inspired. Thank you Karin for letting me be part of this musical family!"
