Team Remembering KK Walking to Honor a Brave 14-Year Old Who Fought Cancer Up Until The End. "KK" is Our Hero! The treatment was a combination of surgery and radiation treatments.

Our team was started to remember a very special young man who recently on February 7, 2011 lost his battle against cancer at the young age of 14 years old. The following information was taken off his personal website that is maintained by family & friends:

In early October, 2006, Kelton noticed a lump on the left side of his jaw. It was then diagnosed as adenoma carcinoma of his parotid salivary

gland, a very rare cancer for a 10 Year old boy. Kelton braved these treatments like a champion! He went in for regular follow-up scans that came back clear, until February 2008 when spots were seen in his lungs. Further scans and tests were completed and it was determined that the cancer had metastasized to his lungs, kidneys and the proximal femoral head on his left side. KK now has stage 4 metastasic NSCLC (non small cell lung cancer). The treatments are just about to begin and they include installing a PICC , chemotherapy on a 21-day cycle involving 3 different drugs as well as radiation on the cancer in his leg. We hope to honor KK, his amazing courage, & the brilliant light he was in so many peoples' lives. He was loved & admired by many. We hope one day no mother, father, sister, brother, aunt, uncle, cousin, or friend has to know the pain of losing a loved one - especially someone so young & still full of life, joy & potential. We love & miss you, KK. We are honored to walk in your memory.
