Sawmen Motorcyle Club
The Sawmen Motorcycle Club (SMC)(www.sawmenmc.com) is an International invitation only, not-for-profit limited liability corporation (501(c)7). SMC provides fundraising services for veterans endeavors, project leadership and volunteer resources in support of community charitable causes. Sawmen include community leaders and activists, active-reserve military, and retired combat veterans of the armed forces. The Club formed in the Lowell Neighborhood of Everett, Washington and has now expanded Internationally. Community-oriented Motorcyle Clubs in Everett date back to 1915. Men of that era rode as the Everett Motorcycle Club (EMC) made up of local Mill workers. There were clubs in nearby Arlington, Seattle, Portland, Vancouver, and Wenatchee. The Men would ride/race all weekend and throw Saturday night club house parties hosting the other clubs. WWII kicked off and the EMC went to War. Some would not return. Those who were fortunate to do so, returned home in the late 1940’s, bought surplus motorcycles and built communities. Although it is believed EMC would never ride together again, others would and they formed clubs raising hundreds of thousands of dollars over the generations and contributing immensely to community awareness issues. Modern-day Sawmen are the direct descendants of the Carpenters and Businessmen who built the mills and our community. Sawmills would soon turn to manufacturing plants. Mill Town would soon become “Smokestack City” over night. Korea, VietNam, Panama, Desert Storm, Somalia, Kosovo, Iraq, and Afghanistan -- wars came and like the generations before them, Men would return home and now help lead charitable efforts within their community. Our International Chapters are made up of Sawmen who love their families, communities, and motorcycles. We keep it simple--stay in our lane and respect all. These are honorable Men representing the best of their generations. Garage Grown - Union Strong...Lets Ride!
