He has worked with us for years .com Gardener of eden landscaping He helped me in both businesses and we are devastated by his loss. We have not said much about it because it is so shocking. One of his biggest traits was how outspoken he was as an advocate for truth and justice. As is always the case with him he would found the lack of discussion in the matter of his death and the circumstances leading up to it, involving it, and following so ironic. He did quite well with wrong place wrong time wrong choice over the years.
He read the Iliad a couple years ago and loved it. He was attempting to read all the Greek tragedies and was shocked at the plight of oedipus. He relapsed after starting school and had been making great progress. He had acquired student loans and would be laughing his ass off about the new loan forgiveness.
He despised fake stuff and would be super pushed at this post. He told a girl who said she loved him one day no she didn’t and she didn’t know him and to never tell him that again. He was my best friend and he was so raw. He died because ge could not/would not stay sober. He relapsed a few years ago on the anniversary of Megan his wife’s death. He was crushed that she died. He painted fences for our friend coping who picked him up every day at the Everett gospel mission. Everett Gospel Mission Vipin is also called happy and Eric introduced us. Vipin has worked two jobs for decades and will be sad to see this. Eric helped us hand out food YourHomeNW.com to people in foreclosure. One time we helped some people in foreclosure move. We bought the pizza smokes and beer which we found ironic since we were SOBER 😂😂😂. I gave him a big talk about getting a sponsor and not being such a sick to people. It did not stick 😂😂 and I heard he died in a fight at was it your establishment? How unsurprising of him.
One time I took him to rehab and it was the best he ever did after Megan died. He was at Seadrunar Stacey Siep Seadrunar. I begged him not to leave. Literally begged him. He had over two years sober there and they would not take his s**t. They made him work and carry his weight and he paid rent. I thought it was so cool they had a sandwich bar and he got to do that. I drove him there in south Seattle every Saturday after he took a bus to Everett to go to a meeting.
My heart is so broken that my best friend is dead. I watched him die and we talked about that he would die. He was constitutionally incapable of a manner of living that demanded rigorous honesty-not drinking. My best friend tried so hard. He gave me swords as a present one time. I gave him rides, sponsors, friends, jobs, food, housing, school, meetings, rehab, detox, multiple housing programs (like10), holidays l, service work, old timer breakfasts, rides…
I love you so much Eric and I am so sorry you are dead. I don’t understand why you weren’t back at sea drunar like we talked about.

RIP and if you or someone you know has a drinking or drug problem Alcoholics Anonymous is where your story can end. My name is Stacey Siep and I am Eric Winnie’s best friend and have been for almost 20 years. My heart is broken at almost 8 years sober that my friend is dead. 13 years ago we really started trying back at the Chuckwagon and I have 7.5 years and he has none.
