Snohomish County USBC’s Mikayla Bowman Wins 1st Place at the 2026 Washington Youth Masters

Mikayla Bowman captured 1st Place in the handicap division at the 2026 Washington Youth Masters, improving from her 4th Place finish last year.

Competing against top youth bowlers from across Washington, Bowman demonstrated composure, precision, and competitive resilience throughout the demanding multi-round event. The tournament’s challenging lane environment required versatility, strategic adjustments, and endurance.

Way to go, Mikayla!

Know of a bowler in your association who meets the requirements for the WA State USBC Hall of Fame? Make sure to download and submit an application from our website to nominate them!

A candidate for the Washington State USBC Association Hall of Fame must meet the following criteria:
1. Must be a minimum age of forty (40) as of July 1 of year nominated (Waived for posthumous category).
2. Must have a minimum of ten (10) years participation in Washington State Tournament(s) or in case of Meritorious Service – ten (10) or more years of service.
3. Must have been an adult member of certifying or governing body of bowling for a minimum of ten (10) years (Waived for posthumous category).

Congrats to our Snohomish County youth bowlers - Mikayla Bowman, Jake Sale, Cameron Schneider, Georgia Rahla, and Harrison Davis - for their performances at Junior Gold!

A big congrats to all of our Washington youth bowlers participating in Junior Gold this year! Here's a quick snippet of the results. Thanks to Shanna Hoyt-Siler for compiling data for me :) Please let me know if there is any incorrect information on here.

WSBPA will be hosting a coaching clinic on Sunday, August 25th from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Kenmore Lanes for adult volunteers wanting to assist with youth leagues in their local area, or WIAA coaches who would benefit from on-the-lanes training from certified coaches including Bob Rea, Kevin Hong, and Chuck Linn.

Five of our Snohomish County USBC Youth Bowlers are representing Washington State at the USBC Junior Gold Championships this week in Detroit, MI.

The Snohomish County USBC Board of Directors has awarded each bowler a $200 stipend to help with travel costs this year and will be implementing programs to continue this support in the years to come. Please visit www.snohomishcountyusbc.org for more information and to support our youth bowlers.

Congratulations to Snohomish County USBC's Mikayla Bowman for taking 1st Place in Girls U12 division of the Pepsi Washington West Sectionals last weekend at Triangle Bowl!

8 youth bowlers from Evergreen Lanes and 1 from Strawberry Lanes will advance to the Pepsi State Finals held at Zeppoz in Pullman, WA April 27th & 28th.

Other SCUSBC Pepsi Washington West Sectional qualifiers include:

Olivia Henning and Riley Hoff (Girls U15),
Hailey Mattson and Georgia Rahla (Girls U18),
Jake Sale and Cameron Schneider (Boys U15),
Dallas Mecham and Eugene Barrett (Boys U18)

Snohomish County's William Ellis and Steven Dowell took home the 2023 WSUSBC Open Championships Division A Doubles Title, shooting an impressive three-game set of 1535. Washington State USBC Director Brandon Bowman presented the awards last week at Evergreen Lanes & Restaurant, which hosted both the Singles and Doubles events for the tournament. Congratulations!

Congratulations to Brandon Bowman for winning the 2023 Washington State WSUSBC Open Championships Division A – Singles (826) and Scratch All Events (2153) titles. Bowman also collects a free entry into the 2024 WSUSBC Open Championships, hosted in Spokane, WA and will be representing Washington State at the 2024 USBC Masters in Las Vegas, NV.

Bowman adds this year’s victories to his previous WSUSBC titles – the 2022 WSUSBC Mixed Open Championships Division A – Scratch All Events and 2003 WSUSBC Open Championships All Events.

Dennis Jackson, Washington State USBC Director, presented Bowman with his awards earlier this month at Evergreen Lanes & Restaurant.
