okay this one got us right in the feels!

The Lakota East National Honor Society Class of 2026 presented us with a $1,500 gift at their Senior Recognition Ceremony last month. The really special part is that most of these students first learned about Magnified Giving as freshmen, when their English class took part in our Youth Philanthropy Program. They researched local nonprofits, picked causes they believed in, and helped grant real dollars to organizations in their community. Four years later, they chose to give back to us. πŸ’™

NHS president Elise Brown said it felt like a full-circle moment, and honestly, we couldn't agree more. Our founder, Roger Grein, was there to accept the gift in person, and watching these seniors carry something forward that started for them as freshmen is the kind of moment that stays with you.
Huge thanks to Elise, the NHS Class of 2026, and everyone at Lakota East. You reminded us exactly why we do this.

we're hiring πŸ‘€

A Camp & Programs Intern spot just opened up for Summer 2026, and we'd love to fill it with someone amazing.

This role sits right in the middle of everything that makes Camp Give what it is. You'd help plan activities, work alongside our team, and spend camp weeks with 5th through 9th graders learning how to give their time, talent, and treasure. It's paid, hands-on, and the kind of summer that actually sticks with you.

If you know someone who'd be perfect for this, send it their way or repost to spread the word. If that someone is you, even better :)

grant giving season is in full swing πŸ’š

One of our favorite parts of the Giving Ceremony experience is the moment a student hands a check to a real person from the nonprofit they chose to support. It's face-to-face, it's real, and it stays with you!

The Dragonfly Foundation has been part of that moment three times this year. Students from Lakota East, Summit Country Day MS, and Loveland High School all chose to support their mission, and Dragonfly Foundation showed up for every single ceremony to receive those grants in person. That kind of commitment to young philanthropists means everything.

So grateful for nonprofit partners who make the time. We see you, and so do these students. 🧑

MG alumna and current Fellow Francesca Dishueme is one of the voices behind a new piece from Exponent Philanthropy asking a question we care deeply about: what if young people helped shape your grantmaking?

The article makes the case that the next generation doesn't just benefit from philanthropy. They're ready to be part of the decisions, we've seen that firsthand.

So grateful for collaborators who get it, and so proud of Francesca for contributing her perspective to this conversation.

We're so grateful. πŸ’™

Magnified Giving recently received a grant from United Way of Warren County, and we're proud to also be a Small Business Partner with them. This support helps us expand youth philanthropy programming right here in Warren County, connecting more students to the causes and communities they care about.

Thank you to everyone at United Way of Warren County for believing in the next generation of givers. We're better together.

One of our favorite things that happened this year: a former student stood up at a dinner and gave her own teacher one of our highest honors. πŸ’š

Francesca Dishueme, who's now a Magnified Giving Fellow, had the chance to present the 2025 Bill Keating Jr. Educator of Excellence Award to Libby Turpin, the Lebanon High School teacher who first brought her into this program. Francesca put it perfectly: Libby was the one who encouraged her to think more deeply about her community and the ways she could show up for it.

Libby has been with us since around 2016, when she pitched "a wild idea" to her principal to start a Service-Learning class at Lebanon High School. That class, and that partnership, have helped so many students discover that giving back isn't something you wait until you're older to do!

So proud of you, Libby. So well deserved. πŸŽ‰

roger in french class πŸ‡«πŸ‡·πŸ’™

He recently visited students at Oak Hills High School who are participating in the Youth Philanthropy Program right in their French class (how cool is that).

They invited him in to share his story, ask questions, and talk about what giving can actually look like in real life.

You can tell these students are all in. They’re in the middle of their philanthropy journey, thinking deeply, asking great questions, and starting to see where they fit into something bigger :)

So proud of this group for leaning in and doing the work πŸ’š
