Al Peters founded Can Do Canines 37 years ago. His dog, Molly, helped bring him through the lowest period of his life. And he never forgot what that felt like. Al reflects, “This all began with one dog and one man helping each other. Because of you, that single relationship gave rise to 1,000 more.”

Last week we placed our 1,000th assistance dog, and we're ready to do far more—if we have the space to do it. Right now, we can place 40-50 teams per year. Our new facility won't just help us hit our goal of certifying 70 teams annually by 2033—it will allow us to expand far beyond that number for years to come. That's the difference our Unleashing Independence Capital Campaign can make.

We have $4.4 million left to raise to meet our $10 million goal, and right now, every dollar given before May 31 is matched dollar for dollar, up to $150,000, thanks to the Dankey, Wenger, and Rasmussen families.

Every gift, at every level, moves us closer to those next 1,000 teams. Learn more and give at candocanines.org/capital-campaign.

This morning, Lions Brad and Tammy Hejda had the pleasure of handing out the Certificates of Lettering for our Rock Ridge Leos at their end of season meeting. Lions August Galloway and Bob Kreegier oversee a wonderful, self-led group of youth and hearing about all the Leo’s accomplishments through the school year made us so proud of them all. Way to go, Leos!! 👏
