It was another super week at the Black Mountain Boys & Girls Club!

Our members wrapped up Superhero September with a fun and exciting Hulk Gummy Bear experiment! They had a blast getting hands-on, making observations, and exploring the science behind the experiment.

Members also participated in our Journeys: Pathways to Adulthood program, where we talked about the physical, social, and emotional changes that come with getting older. These important conversations help our members better understand themselves and prepare for the journey ahead.

From science experiments to meaningful life lessons, our members are learning, growing, and having fun along the way!

We love Power Hour at the Black Mountain Boys & Girls Club!

Our members are spending time each day working on homework, building academic skills, and participating in educational activities. We are grateful for community volunteers like Ms. Anna from Southeast Kentucky Community & Technical College, who can be seen working one-on-one with Madilyn to help her complete her homework.

What a great first week back at the Black Mountain Boys & Girls Club! Our members jumped right back into learning, teamwork and fun with an Inside Out inspired activity.

Members went on a hunt around the room to find “core memories,” just like the ones from the movie. When they found a memory, they brought it to Ms. Kaley, who gave them a math question to solve. Each correct answer earned them a puzzle piece!

Once they collected their pieces, members gathered around the table and worked together to complete the puzzle. They finished the day by putting their Inside Out knowledge to the test with a fun game of Inside Out Jeopardy.

We are excited for another great year at Black Mountain Boys & Girls Club!
