Every year, as the Evansville Food Truck Festival approaches this Sunday from 12-8pm, we see a few questions come up — and honestly, we appreciate the conversation because it gives us a chance to share the heart behind what we do.
One of the most common questions is:
“Why aren’t there more local food trucks?”
The truth is — we absolutely have several amazing local food trucks participating, and we proudly offer the same opportunity to everyone interested in joining. Some local trucks thrive in the energy and volume of a massive festival atmosphere, while others may simply prefer smaller settings or less competition — and we completely respect that.
What makes this festival so unique is the experience itself. Our guests get the chance to try food trucks and specialty items that simply aren’t available during a normal lunch break or an average weekend in town. Many of these chefs and vendors are traveling in from larger cities and competitive food markets, bringing creativity, flavors, and concepts you may only get the chance to experience once a year right here in Evansville.
This Sunday, more than 35 food trucks will line downtown Evansville. It’s a once-a-year experience designed to bring excitement, energy, and new experiences to our community.
Most importantly, we are proud to host this event in Evansville. These vendors are traveling here, booking hotel rooms, shopping local, supporting downtown businesses, and helping showcase our city in a positive light. Events like this create opportunities not just for food trucks, but for our entire community.
We are incredibly grateful for every local vendor, every traveling chef, every sponsor, and every attendee who helps make this event special year after year. Evansville deserves exciting experiences, and we’re thankful to continue building them together.
