David Schlie, former Christ Our Savior Lutheran teacher and coach, was welcomed into the arms of his heavenly Father on Thursday, March 19, 2026 after a three-year battle with cancer. Mr. Schlie coached basketball, cross country, and baseball as well as taught theology, social studies, and P.E. from 2001-2005.

A Service of Praise and Thanksgiving will be held at 3:00pm (CST) at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 13445 Hampton Rd., Brookfield, WI 53005 on Saturday, March 28, 2026. The service will also be live streamed via Immanuel’s YouTube page/website. A link will be provided.

Following the service, his wife Abbie--also a former Christ Our Savior Lutheran teacher and drama director--and their children invite you to join them for a time of fellowship and sharing in the gymnasium.

Also, his family is requesting stories, lots of stories about Mr. Schlie. If you have any "Do you remember when..." stories that involve Mr. Schlie or any favorite memories of him as a teacher, coach, or colleague, please send them to [email protected]. His wife Abbie would love to print them and put them into binders for each of their four children.

Christ Our Savior trap team shot for the last time. Charlie and Isaac shot Handicap and doubles on Saturday. Their scores for doubles were Charlie 79 and Isaac 77. Handicap scores were Charlie 77 and Isaac 90. On Sunday and Monday Alex and Eli joined Isaac and Charlie to shoot singles. Over the two days they shot 200 rounds the scores were Isaac 188, Charlie 181, Eli 182 and Alex 165.

The gym is getting full. Please drop off your donations by Monday so we have time to get everything organized before the big event. (Help setting up Monday-Thursday is appreciated!) We will have a presale on Thursday evening, July 17, from 4-8 with a $5 admission charge. Watch this page for pictures of some of our awesome items!
