First I want to thank everyone that came out today whether a vendor, business or just came out to enjoy the day with us. I know some of you vendors are a little upset as we did not have as many people come out as we had expected but please don’t hold that against me as we was competing with possible storms, then the heat as well as Labor Day weekend. I do truly appreciate you coming out and supporting me in earning my Girl Scout Gold Award. I have never hosted an event like this and at 18 I did try my hardest to make todays event special as a day for everyone to come together and enjoy the day and festivities and do apologize to those vendors that have already contacted me stating this was the worst event ever as they made no sales or to not contact them ever again to do an event. Believe me those words do hurt as I planned for more people to come out and have worked really hard to put this event together and have also learned some valuable lessons if I was to do this event again. Even though sales for you may not have been good you got to be part of a great cause in helping a Girl Scout earn her gold award and be part of trying to better our community. I planned this event around the topic of equality to spread awareness and help others understand the importance of Equality. Because honestly our community needs help, our community needs to change or else our future generations will live a life in fear of being bullied for being different, worry about getting a good education, job, etc., because of their differences. We need to come together as a community and treat each other equally and with respect because if we don’t what future will the younger generations have. I’m 18 I have not even began my life yet and do not have children but in the future may as well as my brother may and I want them to be able to enjoy life where they don’t have to be treated differently or disrespectfully because they are different from someone else on the outside because on the inside we are all the same we all have the same organs, we all have the same color blood, but on the outside that is what makes us different and unique and we should be proud of that not treated badly because of it. Again thanks for everyone’s support and thanks for helping me make a change in our community.
