We are saddened by the loss of our dear friend, volunteer, board member, and stellar athlete, Tom Wroblewski. Rest in peace, dear friend!
Thomas Joseph Wroblewski
Beloved husband, son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, and friend to so many, passed away on August 28th, 2026. To know Tom was to love him. He lived a very full life with many interests and accomplishments. Tom was born in Indianapolis, IN on March 10, 1957, the second child to Alfred and Elizabeth (Fagan) Wroblewski. He attended St. Simon Catholic Grade School and graduated from Scecina Memorial High School in1976. While at Scecina, he participated in several sports, most notably football, track and wrestling. He was named City Athlete of the Year in1976. He was recruited by The University of Notre Dame to play football on a full scholarship and was fortunate to be a part of the 1977 Championship team led by Joe Montana. He was inducted into The Indiana Football Hall of Fame in 2024.
He spent the majority of his career at Indianapolis Power & Light Co (now AES) as an engineer. After retirement from AES, he decided to work part time at UPS and was planning to retire completely this September. Tom had numerous hobbies, including bowling and darts. He excelled at both and was passionate about participating. For many years Tom was on the Board with the Indiana Senior Olympic Games. He made many friends during his life as he had a great sense of humor and was caring and interested. If you ever needed anything Tom was Johnny-on-the-Spot. He had boundless energy and was always busy with something.
Tom met the love of his life, Dr. Carol Hagans, and they married in January of 2007. They shared many adventures together and would have celebrated their 20th anniversary next year. He was a proud Kitty Dad to Zoe and Gerwyn who will miss him greatly. He was predeceased by his parents and Grandma Crip (Fagan), and leaves behind his wife Carol, sister Terri (John) Goggins, niece Danielle (Ben) Tuschong, great niece Vivian Tuschong, and many cousins.
There will be no funeral services per Tom’s wishes, but a Celebration of Life is planned for September 19th at Woodland Bowl (Royal Pin Woodland, 3421 E. 96th St., Indianapolis) from 1pm to 3pm. We thought he would appreciate the venue! Dress is casual so bring your bowling ball and throw a few in Tom’s memory. Rentals will also be available. If you are so inclined, please feel free to sport your Notre Dame/Irish gear if you have any. We will miss him but know he is busy bowling 300’s in heaven, and will definitely be thinking of him when thunder strikes!
