Grandin Evolution

Grandin Evolution Grandin Evolution is a non profit program for children in the Grandin Pointe Mobile Home Park.

Grandin Evolution will be dissolved effective June 30, 2026, so this FB page will be closed then,, too. At this point, we are uncertain what will happen with the after school program. But, what I DO know is.....Grandin Pointe owners and management will continue to be supportive of the children and families living in the Grandin Pointe Mobile Home Park Community, because the owners and management are good people!..Community meals will still be served by your friends from Old North United Methodist Church at the "school house" the last Monday of every month (at 6:00 p.m.). ..Your children will continue to enjoy the playground area at the "school house". I wish I could figure out a way to have basketballs and soccer balls available outside for the kids to play with, but I'm afraid they would be taken home. Any ideas on this, please share!

On behalf of Mrs. Sherry Ocker (original founder/director), myself, and every person who has volunteered at Grandin Evolution over the last 14 years, thank you all for sharing your children with us!

Hello Everyone! I want to update you all-- I've already shared this with Grandin Evolution program children and families, program volunteers, and Grandin Pointe staff, plus a few others that my last day with the Grandin after school program will be May 7th (also the last day for the children for this school year). I've truly enjoyed my many years volunteering with this program and I've met some wonderful people and some incredible children! All good things that happened because of our program can be attributed to the unending support of Flagship Communities, LLC and especially Mrs. Jerri Johnson.

With that said, my hope is that there is a person (a couple people or even a group of people) who feel moved to step in, take the lead, and make a difference in the lives of children and families living in the Grandin Pointe Mobile Home Community. I would be happy to help however needed with the transition in leadership (of course, with Jerri's approval of plans). Any questions, please feel free to call me, 812-455-3783.

EDITED TO ADD—Thank you to Sarah Asbury for mentioning Sherry Ocker! That was a complete miss on my part! There would never have been a Grandin program without Sherry’s vision and her tireless work to give that vision life!

No ID is required, but you will be asked for your zip code and how many people are in your household. Distributions are scheduled for two hours, or while supplies last.
