Feed Evansville

Feed Evansville works alongside community organizations who regularly provide food & meals. We are an additional resource the community can lean on for food.

Our focus is on providing meals to people during these heightened times of uncertainty.

Huge shout out to our donor, Bimbo México, for their continuous support. These donations are used for all of our programming from summer lunches, community food shares, and to distribute amongst other non-profits in the community to help with their programming. This week’s donations were able to be spread throughout 4 different non-profit programs and expand the reach of Feed Evansville’s food insecurity work. Our staff is so proud of all of the local community collaboration happening to tackle food insecurity. Together we WILL feed Evansville.

Thank you to today’s volunteers! They packed up our free lunches to be distributed at Howell/Mosby Pool, Lincoln Pool, and for the students at Youth Build Vocational. Packaged up prepped food to deliver to United Caring Services and helped sort donations to give to The Salvation Army of Evansville, Serving Warrick& Vanderburgh Counties and Evansville Rescue Mission!

Even in small numbers, we are mighty. Together we will feed Evansville!

Oh SNAP! Our team proudly manages SNAP/EBT acceptance at Franklin Street Bazaar on Saturdays and Market on Main EVV on Wednesdays. Each recipient can double their money up to $20 for purchasing fresh and local fruits and vegetables. All you have to do is find the Urban Seeds booth!

Tri-State Food Bank is hosting five Mobile Food Distributions in June! The TSFB truck will be distributing boxes of shelf-stable groceries with vegetables and fruit for our neighbors at these locations. No ID is required, but you will be asked for your zip code and how many people are in your household. Distributions are scheduled for two hours, or while supplies last.

PLEASE NOTE: The Evansville, IN distributions at Memorial Baptist and Carriage House Apartments are walk-up events.

When a need is made known, part of Feed Evansville’s goal is to find a way to meet those needs, and collaborate with the other organizations in our community . United Caring Services reached out due to a large amount of chicken they needed stored to make room in their kitchen’s freezer. Yesterday we picked it up and today we worked to start processing it and getting it ready for them. Now, they can call us when needed and we have their food already made for them and stored in our facility. Thank you to our amazing volunteers, Krystal and Liam, who showed up at a moments notice! Today we processed 250 lbs of chicken! Chicken is ready for sandwiches, wraps, chicken salad, and we even had time to make up some Parmesan chicken! All cooked up, vac sealed, stored, and ready to serve at this amazing local shelter ❤️ TOGETHER is how we WILL feed Evansville.
