A mammogram may only be one appointment on a calendar, but for many women, it can be a moment filled with uncertainty, anxiety and discomfort. Sometimes, something as simple as a little extra warmth can help make that experience feel more comfortable.
Thanks to a Deaconess Foundation grant, the Deaconess mammography team at The Women’s Hospital now has hand warmers to help clinical staff keep their hands warm during patient examinations. While it may seem like a simple resource, having warm hands can make the hands-on portions of a breast health screening more comfortable for patients.
“These small gestures can make a significant difference in helping patients feel more relaxed and cared for throughout their visit,” said Amy B., RT(R)(M)(BS)CN-BI, Mammographer, Sonographer and Imaging Navigator.
The grant is a reminder that compassionate, patient-centered care can be found in the smallest details. We’re grateful to support the mammography team and their commitment to making every patient feel comfortable, cared for and supported.

What a wonderful evening celebrating the impact of generosity!

We were thrilled to welcome members of our President’s and Cornerstone Societies for a special open house, bringing our donors face-to-face with the difference their generosity makes throughout Deaconess.

Guests had the opportunity to visit with team members from departments supported by Foundation grants, see firsthand the equipment, resources and programs their gifts have made possible and learn more about the continued advancement of cancer care coming with the Deaconess Cinelli Cancer Center.

These moments are a powerful reminder that generosity directly impacts Deaconess staff and patients. Because of you, better resources for our caregivers, meaningful support for our patients and families, and continued progress in keeping exceptional care close to home stays in the forefront.

In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Deaconess proudly hosts and sponsors the annual Breast Friends Walk.

This event dedicates a day to celebrate survivors and the strength it took to get there, to remember and honor those we have lost and to look toward the future with hope, knowing that cancer care in our community continues to advance.

Most of all, the Breast Friends Walk is a reminder that no one has to face cancer alone. Friends, families, caregivers, physicians, survivors and community members come together to celebrate the victories, acknowledge the losses and surround one another with encouragement and support.

Through the generosity of our sponsors and the many individuals who faithfully give to the Breast Services Fund, our community continues to invest in better care, greater resources and hope for those facing breast cancer.

⛳️ The Deaconess Gibson Hospital Foundation’s 34th Annual Golf Classic was a sold-out day and a wonderful example of the caring spirit of Gibson County. On September 17, 32 teams filled Cambridge Golf Course for a day of friendly competition, connection and philanthropy making it one of our most successful events yet!

⛳The Deaconess Union County Hospital Foundation Golf Scramble brought golfers, sponsors, friends and community supporters together for a day on the course — and together, you helped raise more than $22,000 to support Deaconess Union County, KY!⛳

What a night.
More than 800 people filled the Ford Center Saturday night for the Deaconess Foundation Party of the Year — and the dance floor stayed packed!
But what made the night so special was seeing so many people come together believing in our mission and in what is possible for cancer care in our region.
We are incredibly grateful for the generosity of everyone who helped make the evening such a success and for the funds raised in support of the Deaconess Cinelli Cancer Center.
We had so much fun celebrating with you, and we’re already looking forward to next year!
