Northwestern Energy and Sustainability Consortium

Northwestern Energy and Sustainability Consortium NESC is an interdisciplinary student group that facilitates communication and collaboration at Northwestern University regarding sustainability and energy.

NESC (formerly ISENse - ISEN Student Engagement) is an interdisciplinary student group with a purpose to encourage and facilitate communication and collaboration at Northwestern University regarding sustainability and energy. Broadly, this includes, but is not limited to:

-Facilitating cooperation and coordination between students engaged in sustainability- and energy-oriented activities and init

iatives.
-Working to disseminate information about sustainability activities, initiatives, programs, careers, coursework, and anything else sustainability- or energy-oriented to the student body.
-Developing tools for sharing and finding information about sustainability and energy for use by students, prospective students, employers, administration, faculty, and media. To accomplish this, NESC identified three target areas of improvement: awareness, support, and collaboration. The group plans to develop a campus-wide environmentally-themed shared calendar, networking opportunities, and co-hosting speakers and events. NESC is comprised of undergraduate- and graduate-level environmental leaders with a common goal to expand and develop Northwestern University's commitment to energy efficiency and sustainability.

Interested in understanding existing and new energy technologies? Have you been looking for a group of experts to break down all the technical jargon around new and emerging technologies in a dynamic and exciting learning environment without needing an engineering degree to understand them? The Technology of Energy Seminar Series (TOE), the partner series to the successful Business of Energy Seminar Series, is now accepting applications to join the Winter 2016 cohort! TOE is designed to give you the straight truth about different energy technologies and their capabilities and limitations without getting bogged down in the nitty gritty details of each individual technology.

URGENT: Please call your Congresswoman and voice your support for renewable energy tax credits! These tax credits are essential for increasing solar and wind power in the US and achieving climate change targets! Progressive environmentalists support a deal: trade oil exports for the renewable energy tax credits. Oil exports cannot save the oil industry, but tax credits will dramatically increase renewable energy! Call your local representative, in Evanston that's Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky: (847) 328-3409
