This guy generously shares his bowl and it has cost him a fortune including hiring a lawyer to fight to let him keep it. He had a heart attack while building it but keeps going. If you can help him out with some $$$$ it would get you good skate karma. http://www.gofundme.com/chickenbowl

THE BRIEF STORY The Chicken Bowl is an amazing work of art designed and built for the use of skateboarding. Currently the Chicken Bowl is in need of a permit in order to be approved for continued use. The additional elements needed in order to meet the requirements stated by the Permits Office a...

take this survey. you will have to pick playground equipment but at the end it asks for comments -- tell them to make a skate park. Remind them we have lots of playgrounds and green space.

The City of Evanston is requesting additional feedback to develop the final design for Baker Park. Based on community feedback received thus far we have developed two revised concepts plans that each contains the following elements: 1.

From fellow skateboarder, Evanston parent, and park project supporter Eric Sorensen:

"It’s designed to provide a safe, exciting environment for active entertainment in Haderslev, a Danish town of just over 20,000 residents."
Sitka Alaska has a population of 8800 and they have a skatepark. Willmette has a population of 27,000, they have a skatepark. Evanston has a population of 75,000! There are over 50 Evanston parks listed on the city of Evanston website. Let me repeat that. Over 50 parks. Of those 50 plus parks listed there is 1 place to legally skate in Evanston that is between the dog park and Mc Cormick canal. It smells like f***s and is the equivalent of half size grade school basketball hoops.
Evanston has some of the best schools in the state including ETHS and Northwestern. Evanston is a world class city yet we criminalize the children of our community who choose to skateboard by not providing them with a safe environment to get fresh air and exercise. I find the behavior and decision making process of our city shameful towards the interests of the underprivileged children of this city. Shame.

PART 1 OF PREVIOUSLY MENTIONED ANNOUNCEMENT:

It has become clear that the city government is not taking the need for a park seriously. Obviously, we need a way to express to them this necessity, so here's the idea...

We will be having a "SKATE-IN DEMONSTRATION" very soon. Come show your support WHETHER OR NOT YOU SKATE. We need this for everyone in Evanston. We know that, you know that, but there are people in high places who are ignoring it. Let's make it known!

Keep an eye out for dates. More coming soon.

CITY COUNCIL MEETING TONIGHT!

Public Comment is the perfect time to go talk to the city about our need for a skate park. We need to show them they have to commit to this!

There's a very good possibility of a large announcement coming soon. Make no assumptions, but your help will almost certainly be needed.

Today Superintendent Mike Kelly was joined by Chicago’s First Lady Amy Rule, Alderman Will Burns, and Grant Park Advisory Council President Bob O’Neil to break ground at the new wheel-friendly area in Grant Park.

The new skate park will feature an outdoor event/art exhibition space, large concrete wheel friendly area for skate boarding, scooters, roller blades and BMX bikes. http://ow.ly/z8pSG

Hope everyone's having an awesome end to their school year, and to those of you still in school, good luck on finals!

Things have quieted down on the page, but we're not done. Fundraising will probably come into the spotlight in the near future, and we will need all the help we can get for that. Please keep sharing the page, even if you or your friends/family can't give money. Our movement is based on public need and desire, so keep it moving!

Have a great summer everyone!
