Industry Insiders: A panel of experts will begin at 8 p.m. at University Hall room 121! Speakers from various backgrounds in the fashion industry will meet to discuss their roles in the industry, how they succeeded and advice on how to follow in their footsteps. Q&A will follow with Nadina Gerlach as the student moderator. So far Zoe Damacela, an NU sophomore featured on the cover of Seventeen Magazine and creator of Zoe Damacela Apparel, Kelly Golden, owner of Neapolitan collection of Winnetka and Steven Fischer, the instructor and creator of the Business of Fashion class offered through Kellog, and Wendy Levy, the Midwest Director of Vogue, are confirmed! The first ever STITCH Launch Event will run from 5-7 p.m. followed by an exclusive shopping experience with select Evanston shops. Sponsored by the Downtown Evanston and ASG the event will be held at the old Halloween Store storefront. Come for the free appetizers, swag bags, live entertainment provided by THUNK a ca****la but stay for the launch of the new April edition of STITCH! At the event you will find postcards with a map of all participating stores. Stop at every shop, get your card stamped and bring it to the front desk of Norris where you will find a labeled folder “STITCH & Unity Fashion Night”. This is event we have all been waiting for! The 5th Annual Unity Charity Fashion Show benefiting Playing for Change will start at 7 p.m. Student tickets are $5 and tickets for the general public are $7. Come to see clothing modeled from Gigi Bottega, Gap, Vividbraille, Steve Madden, AK Kerani, Pitaya, The Edit and Luxemi. Cultural clothing from Kabigian, SASA, the Thai Club, Cilipadi, ISA and CISA will also be modeled. Northwestern University student DJ Mena Abebe will be performing all night with a raffle at the close of the show.
