CUB SCOUT PACK 901
Evanston, IL
WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE DO
Pack 901 is the oldest Cub Scout Pack in Evanston, and has been sponsored by the Lincoln Elementary PTA for about a century. We are an inclusive pack, and we now welcome all families with elementary-age kids in the broader Lincoln area. As Boy Scouts of America has opened its doors to girls in recent years, Pack 901 was among the first packs in our area to welcome girls.
Our activities are organized by scout parents at planning sessions throughout the year. We focus on outdoor fun, service projects, camping, building, and lots of running around. Some of the highlights of our calendar year include visits with first responders, two nights of Fall camping, Raingutter Regatta, Pinewood Derby, and two nights of Winter camping (most of us in a cabin, but some hardy souls go tent camping in the snow using their winter camping skills!).

WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT JOINING
· Drop in / drop out, but not drop off - Families are welcome to attend any Pack 901 events that busy schedules allow, but no pressure if you can't make it for a while. Especially for scouts in grades K-2, we ask that an adult participate and get involved in meetings alongside your scout.
· Dues - We ask for $50 in dues for each scout, but we also waive dues for any family that needs to request a waiver. We are committed to making our activities accessible for any family that wants to join.
· Fundraising - As the school year starts, we are in the middle of popcorn sales, which bring in some of our operating budget. We welcome participation by each family - circulate a link to online sales, go door-to-door, or join us at site sales outside neighborhood stores. But again, no pressure. Each family can contribute in its own way.
· Adult volunteer opportunities - Become a leader of the Pack! We need Den Leaders for each grade and lots of other volunteers. Organize an event, take charge of communication or social media, or just help out where you can. Any assistance is welcome.
· Uniforms - Scouts wear uniforms to most meetings. We will do a uniform swap at our Sept / Oct meetings where outgrown uniforms will be available for free. New uniforms are available at our council store in Vernon Hills: http://neic.org/about-us/
· Applications - We will have paper forms available at upcoming meetings (including for adult leaders), or take care of the scout application form online: My Scouting
