Chicago Area Peace Action Chicagoland Chapter of the national organization Peace Action

Chicago Area Peace Action is a coalition of engaged citizens who share a commitment to peace through justice. We are committed to education and advocacy, to the prevention of armed aggression and to the reduction and eventual abolition of all nuclear weapons through enforceable international law. In the Chicagoland area, we work with individuals, faith-based peace and justice committees, and national and international organizations to promote nonviolent conflict resolution throughout the world.

As we near the end of the year, it is crucial for our team at CAPA to reflect on these principles. Unfortunately, these issues, will continue to stand as challenges beyond 2026. At CAPA we are committed to continue the fight alongside the many partnering organizations, activists, and concerned citizens to uphold human dignity and solidarity, strengthen democracy and freedoms, challenge U.S. militarism, and advance bold climate action.

The NRC is being urged to weaken radiation standards, standards in place to protect citizens, that already fail to do so. Urge your representatives to extend the public comment period - 45 days is not long enough to properly inform citizens of public health risks.

This timely program will be presented by Dr. Ali Tarokh, former political prisoner, academic, and war resister.
