Good News! Threats of health care research funding being because the President is mad at some states with Democratic Governors are stayed while the courts decide whether the action is legal.
Stayed, unless the Supreme Court tries the case on their shadow docket and rules that the President can do whatever he wants because he's the President. Question about that Shadow Docket: Do you think they consider the future when Trump's not President? The precedents they're setting apply until they're over-turned which PREVIOUSLY wasn't a common occurence. The Supreme Court is, in essence, re-writing the Constitution. The activist conservative majority on the Court is altering the balance of powers allotted to the 3 branches of government by the Founding Fathers, who, I'll posit, were a whole lot smarter than the current Supreme Court Justices could ever hope to be.
Illinois would have lost more than $100 million in CDC grant funding if the cuts were allowed to remain in place.
