I am not involved in the community garden these days but I am proud of the fact that the presentation to the city council made it happen.

Please don't forget if you have extra seeds to plant them in the Robinhood Plot. That is the first plot inside the gate. Help water it if it is dry when you have time. Thanks.

Hello gardeners.
I know the snow is deep and the prospects of spring seem so far away but it is time to renew your plots in the Garden. All plots will be held for renewal through March 1. If you wish to have the same plot, please get your renewal form in asap. After March 1, we will still try to give new people the opportunity to adopt one of the unused plots but once they are all gone we will open up any plots that have not been readopted.
I am going to plant some starts in the brassica family today. Just thinking about my future garden brings joy to my days.
Happy gardening.

It is not too early to reapply for your garden plots. I plan to do that tomorrow and pull out the seed catalogs and start ordering.

The pathways are coming along well. There is another work party tonight, Sept. 1, at 5:30 at the garden. There will also be one on Thursday, same time same place.

Does anyone know who was working on the walkways at the garden this weekend? We would appreciate it if they took more care with our plots by not placing the rebar and hose bins into our growing plants we have taken time to cultivate.

It is just after 10am on Saturday and I am heading out to garden with my tiller and other equipment. If your plot is not tilled yet and you have time, come on out.

Thank you, Tim Seahorn, for the hose reel project. Tim headed up the project, got the funding from his Rotary group, found the parts and along with Larissa got the job completed. They are in and should last a very long time.

Thanks to whoever has been mowing the aisles. I just got home from 7 hours working at the garden, tilling up some plots for others, one for myself and the Robin Hood plot. I also mowed part of 6 plots that were not adopted this year. Having such rich soil the weeds flourish. I will go out again in the morning and plant a few things before my afternoon meeting. See you all at the EGCoop.
