While we were on break, Beinen and NU admin signed a deal with the Trump administration!! On top of being the second highest extortion rate, the deal also signed away multiple student rights.

NUGW wants Northwestern to prioritize WORKERS OVER DEALS!🔥🔥🔥

Five universities (MIT, Brown, USC, UVA, and Penn) have rejected Trump’s demands while our interim President Bienen is public announcing that he is looking to make a deal with Trump! (SHAME!) Our union is actively organizing against such deal-making that will sell off workers and students; scrutinize any democratic spaces including curricula; discriminate against trans and non-citizen community members! WE HAVE TO STRONGLY SAY NO!

Join us next week for a week of action along with our sibling unions across the country: Spread the word, wear a button, hang up a flyer, attend our webinar, join our organizing committee meeting, and participate in our WORK-IN on Friday the 24th! A work-in is where you and your colleagues work together in a common area wearing buttons and/or union shirts to show Northwestern that you want them to stand up and fight back!

Beinen wants to make a deal with the Trump admin. How do we know? He said so. In a faculty assembly last night (10/15), he openly remarked, “I want to make a deal with the federal government.” This is completely unacceptable. Join us for a zoom webinar this Monday (10/20) where NUGW and other grad locals are planning to push back against Trump’s compact.
