BOOSTING BLACK BUSINESS·MONDAY, JULY 20, 2020·

This group was created to Boost Black Business!!! There is indeed a more detailed or intricate way to fund black business through grants, loans etc. in our communities and it should be done, but this is about what we can do right now. This particular group was created for like-minded individuals that will dedicate themselves t

o a MINIMUM of $20 a month to support ACTIVE CROWDFUNDING CAMPAIGNS. This can be from Blackstartups, Indiegogo, BBNomics, Kickstarter, GoFundMe, Plum Alley and beyond—we don’t care. The minimum of $20 will go DIRECTLY TO to the crowdfunding site for the business. We will never solicit or condone money being sent directly to an individual as part of our efforts! This is the “Startup for startups!” In the future, the focus can potentially change, but we’ll deal with that then. These black owned businesses will have to have an active BUSINESS crowdfunding page; you had to present information beyond a basic crowdfunding request (i.e. EIN numbers, business banking accounts, copies of ID’s etc.) for these accounts to be active and stay active (or money will be refunded). We will research a business and find their footprint in their city and their legitimacy to the best of our abilities. Our goal will be to get them to their goal. If they need $50,000 or $200,000, we will do our part to try and get it funded! If we have a minimum of 10,000 members, to fund $50,000 will cost us $5 for that month. With 10,000 members, we can fund a $200,000 campaign with $20. If there is overflow to that company, so be it. How this works: We will highlight a business for ONE month starting July 20, 2020. As those days approach, we will NEED to gather enough members (minimum of 10,000) to make real change or it won't work. For the next 12 months, we will attempt to fund 12 black owned businesses. If we decide to get fancy, we will possibly double it up after the first 3 months!!! So if we’re doing well, starting in the 4th month, we will try to have 2 businesses highlighted. That means we can fund 12 to 21 businesses between now and July 20, 2021!!!!! This is small change, but it is change!!!! These companies can become the next big thing and pay it forward and that becomes the gift that keeps on giving. We owe this to ourselves and we can do it. Invite LIKE-MINDED PEOPLE who WILL contribute a minimum of $20 a month, so we can get these businesses the boost they need. Negative energy and greed won’t be tolerated; you will promptly be removed because we have business to attend to. No emotions, just action. See you July 20th, 2020! Respectfully,

I've been meaning to do this for months, but here I finally am.

As I come across great products, I want to share them with my crew for gift ideas or just to treat yourself. No pressure.

2024 was a monster for so many of us, so let's share the gems and thrive in 2025.

Be For Skincare was created for women in different stages of motherhood that needed specific attention to how their skin was changing during pregnancy and beyond.

Get this... I've never pushed out a baby in my life, and this product has me glowing!!!!! I'm just sharing a good thing.

More good things to come.

Visit their site for more.

Love ya,

Tosha

UPDATE: 10/14/2024 -- The Laundry Cafe is UNDER CONSTRUCTION inside The Aux. 2223 Washington (down Pitner Alley off of Main St). The laundry equipment is being delivered at the end of this month. The cafe equipment shortly thereafter! This is wild! It's also something we have collectively pushed to happen. Due to our project becoming much larger than the space we anticipated, we still will need funds to push completely through. We are seeking a loan (y'all remember what happened last time--DENIED), but we are trying to go in with a little more fire power. If you're able, please help as you see fit!!!! It's coming alive!!!

Hi all!!!

It saddens me to close down the website for Boosting Black Business. It's costing me a lot of money to maintain it and I've tried to keep it alive just in good faith for 4 years, but some things you have to let go.

I also had the words "Boosting Black Business" Trademarked to protect anyone from trying to bamboozle anyone in this group. You trusted me and I did what I could to maintain that level of trust with you all. The world is full of scammers. The words being protected in that order will also soon expire. So if you see this anywhere... it's not me. Fight em. LOL

BUT I want us to be SOOOOO VERY PROUD of ourselves for doing the work during Covid. We raised over $110,000 for 9 businesses that ARE still moving, shaking, and doing spectacular things. THRIVING!!!!!!

Hello all!!!! I hope you can join us at Fleetwood at 2pm for some more awesome Evanston news pertaining to our growth as a community, as a people, business owners and soon to be equity owners. The future home of some of your BBB favorites: The Laundry Cafe, Badge Brew Coffee Roasters as well as other businesses such as Well Beings Chicago, Embrace Your Crown, Chef Q and so many more.

We are so excited to share that you now have the opportunity to invest in The Aux building's Community Equity Raise. It is now live on SmallChange: https://www.smallchange.co/projects/The-Aux-Evanston

As you know, I have been working with a team to create The Aux as a hub for Black-owned businesses with a focus on community wellness. My business will be located here along with other Black and minority-owned businesses. I've also made a personal investment in the Aux by becoming one of the owners of the real estate.

Consider joining me!

We invite you to invest in The Aux and become an owner of the real estate. Typically, these opportunities require large sums of money. But, in our model, we intentionally created an opportunity with a more modest entry point to increase everyone's ability to participate. Our goal is to have a large number of Black investors and local community members share in the ownership of this building, but please note all are welcome to join in. Community investment is critical to helping us raise the final funds for The Aux. Can we count on your investment?!

Want to learn more?

Join us for The Aux Equity Launch Gathering on Sunday, October 23 at 2:00pm at the Fleetwood Jourdain Center. We'll share the story of The Aux and share more about this investment opportunity. RSVP here: http://evite.me/zayczxKMVH

Other ways you can help?

Share this investment opportunity with your networks. Feel free to forward this email!

Host a gathering for your friends and colleagues to learn about The Aux and this investment opportunity. Let us know you're interested and we will help you plan.

Share our story through social media, podcasts, and the news.

I hope you'll take a look at the Small Change website and come join us on October 23rd to learn more. RSVP now!

In gratitude,

Tosh
