At the North Shore (IL) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated, we believe programming should create experiences that educate, inspire, and connect.

This year, our support of the Evanston Township High School Book Club went beyond providing books and joining the discussions. Together, we explored August Wilson’s Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom and sponsored a theatre experience so students could see the play that we read come to life on stage.

Moments like these are possible because of the support we receive through our North Shore on the Lake fundraiser. Every sponsorship and ticket purchased helps us continue creating meaningful opportunities for our youth and community.

Today, we celebrate the love, wisdom, grace, and strength of mothers and mother figures everywhere.

From the lessons they pour into us to the legacy they build through every generation, motherhood is truly the heart of our communities and the foundation of our future.

On behalf of the North Shore (IL) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated, we wish you a beautiful Mother’s Day filled with love, joy, and the appreciation you deserve.

Happy Mother’s Day! 🤍

We extend our sincere appreciation to the Illinois Judicial Council for their meaningful participation in our Black Family Wellness Expo.

A special thank you to an exceptional group of leaders who took the time to pour into our community:
Andrea Buford, Presiding Judge, Child Protection Division;
Steven G. Watkins, Supervising Judge, Criminal Division;
Tyria Walton, Chair Elect, Illinois Judicial Council;
Adrienne E. Davis;
Lionel Jean-Baptiste;
Sheree Henry; and
Kristal Rivers.

Your presence, insight, and willingness to engage directly with families helped demystify the judicial system and provided invaluable guidance on what to expect when navigating the courts. These conversations are critical in building trust, promoting understanding, and empowering our community with knowledge.

Thank you for your service, your leadership, and your commitment to education and access. Because of you, our expo was not only impactful—but transformative.

The North Shore (IL) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated Go Red for Heart Health is more than a moment — it’s a mission. ❤️

We wear red to shine a light on heart disease, the number one health threat to women, and to remind our community that prevention, education, and early detection save lives. Through awareness initiatives like this, we continue our commitment to service, advocacy, and empowering families with the knowledge they need to protect their health.

For us, going red means standing in purpose. It means honoring survivors, remembering loved ones, and working toward a future where heart disease no longer impacts our communities at disproportionate rates.

Did you know that in many underserved communities around the world, access to sanitary napkins remains a serious challenge—driven by period poverty, social taboos, and health and environmental concerns?

Yesterday, the North Shore (IL) Chapter The Links, Incorporated took action by donating and creating sustainable solutions that will be mailed to countries in need.
