What is your PLEASE?

Please

Laying in the darkness with the moonlight streaming through the cracks in the blinds; my mind races and my heart beats fast and hard. Fear and worry cover me like my own blanket. I attempt to pray and carry my burdened heart & mind to The Lord. But they are too heavy for me to carry there. Tears flow freely down face and dampen my pillow. But all I can breathe out is, "Please!" and that takes my remaining strength to utter.
Sadly, this scene has been played out in my life, more times then I care to count. However, with each and every utterance of "Please!" They were heard by my God. He would move and cover me under His grace and mercy.

Romans 8:26, 28 "In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."

In the light of the day the heaviness of heart lifts. I breathe in His peace that transcends ALL understanding and walk in faith and trust knowing full well He understands completely the depth and need contained with my simply uttered "please!"

Weathered, twisted & frayed

Walked by a Christian flag that was all twisted and caught up on the pole. I stared at it for a good long minute. The storm had passed and the sun was breaking through shining upon it. Man, does this pic preach!
After the storms of life, our faiths can become twisted weathered, frayed and knotted up. We think that the Lord may have abandoned us or allowed the storms in the first place and our life isn’t what we thought and blame the Lord in some way. BUT the LORD GOD, is always GOD. He is with us in each drop of rain and every ray of sunshine. So our faith should fly proudly, yes it can get hung up and knotted, a but weather and frayed but we need to remember who the Lord is, what He has done and why we choose to believe in the first place. Then let Him unknot our frayed faith and let it shine in the sun for all who walk by to see. Our hard fought and weathered faith speaks loudly to all who walk in and by our lives.

“Be strong and courageous; do not be afraid or terrified of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you.””
‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭31‬:‭6‬ ‭BSB‬‬

Representing costs

Concert and of course concert tee,
College reminiscence and of course a new tee.
Favorite BBQ place and a new tee.
A beloved city and beach and another tee and car sticker to advertise it. Being a fan costs. It cost time, money, travel and the inconveniences of travel and effort. It also brings joy from the memories and pleasure of the experiences.
But it’s all temporary. The tees fade, rip and become dingy. The souvenirs are but tokens.

But when we become a true fan/follower of Jesus. Our costs do not fade or rip, our memories become our testimony of Jesus! He knows us and our names. We are not just a t-shirt wearing fan to Him. We are someone He chose to love and to die for. But being a fan of Jesus cost. It costs us time, traveling through the challenges of life with a humble and thankful heart and the effort to share Jesus when so many in the world are not fans of Him. Choosing to live like Christ and the responsibility to do it well so others can see Jesus.
But the costs are forever worth it. Jesus has my heart and not just my fandom.

“Then he called the crowd to him along with his disciples and said: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me and for the gospel will save it. What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul?”
Mark 8:34-37 NIV
