Along with soccer and community, EDUCATION stands as a core pillar of our work at SWB. As part of our holistic, evidence-based approach, we provide participants with academic and language support, college preparation, leadership development, and life-skills workshops.
Therefore, seeing our players walk across the stage and receive their diplomas is always a proud and emotional moment for all of us. The hard work, dedication, and perseverance of our graduating participants is truly an inspiration.

Today we want to give a HUGE shout out to our supporters at the Colorado Rapids Youth Soccer Club for sharing their incredible field space at The Eddy in Aurora! The Eddy graciously hosted our spring season kick-off event, during which high school players from both our Aurora and Thornton programs came together for an afternoon of pick-up games and getting to know each other. The players quickly bonded over their joint SWB identity and had a blast playing together on the field. We hope to make it back to the Eddy for many more events like this in the future!

Last Saturday, middle school participants from our Greeley teams had the chance to attend an action-packed match between the Colorado Rapids and the Los Angeles Football Club. It was the perfect spring day to watch the Rapids rise to victory of LAFC 🏆☀️Teambuilding trips like this one offer our participants a unique opportunity to spend time together outside of day-to-day programming and to explore new parts of their Colorado community! HUGE shout out and thank you to for making this trip possible!!!⚽️

On Sunday, we took our participants to the Denver Museum of Nature, Science where we explored the exhibits on space, dinosaurs, and more. We had a great time and learned a lot!. Trips like this are not only fun and educational, they also help our participants bond as friends and teammates while exploring the local community!

How amazing is this?! In FY23 at SWB, we served youth participants from 82 different countries of origin! 🌍

Soccer is known as the "world's game" because of its ability to transcend language and culture and unite the global community around a shared passion.

At SWB, each of our participants come to us with their own unique experiences and backgrounds. Regardless of gender identity, sexual orientation, economic means, immigration status, or language spoken at home, our programs are designed to be a safe space where all participants feel welcomed and included.

Happy National Girls & Women in Sports Day!

Today in the United States, we celebrate the 38th annual National Girls and Women in Sports Day, a day acknowledging the accomplishments of female athletes, recognizing the influence of sports participation for women and girls, and honoring the progress and advocation for equality for women in sports.

Research consistently demonstrates that girls who play sports improve academically, make healthier choices, and show increased positive body-image and self-confidence. Despite these numerous benefits, less than 12% of participants in the world's game are female.

At SWB, we address barriers of all kinds to make sure that girls from diverse cultural backgrounds can get in the game – in FY23, we are proud to share that 49% of our TEAM program participants and 50% of our full-time staff members identified as female.

On this National Girls and Women in Sports Day, we would also like to acknowledge the individuals, organizations, and allies around the world who dedicate their time, resources, and efforts to advance gender equity on the field, on the sidelines, in organizations, and beyond. Together, we can break down barriers; we can ensure that all girls, everywhere can get in the game.

Our team is honored and humbled to announce that SWB Colorado has received two grant opportunities from The Weld Trust, that will support our work in the cities of Evans and Greeley in 2024! The Weld Trust is supporting all of SWB's programs in Weld County through their Behavioral Health Key Funding Initiative and is also supporting the expansion of SWB's Youth Leaders program from a summer time program to a year-round program for high school participants interested in work-based learning opportunities and career exploration through their Access to Resources Key Funding Initiative.

The Weld Trust's mission is to promote excellence in health and education in Weld County. Through grants to nonprofit organizations, schools, and government entities, The Weld Trust aims to positively impact the education and wellness of Weld County residents.
