National PACE Month in September is an opportunity to celebrate Programs of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) and their unique care model that helps older adults remain living independently in their homes and community for as long as possible. Redwood Coast PACE, a program of the Humboldt Senior Resource Center, was the first rural PACE program in California.

In the September issue of Senior News, which explores the complex topic of “Artificial Intelligence,” our writers address the impact of AI on their daily lives.
In “’Saving Radiance’ or ‘Unbearable Disturbance’,” Ted Pease discusses how emerging technologies were publicly received in society throughout history and how AI now is the spotlight of this discussion. In “’The Flame Listen. Lyric Remembers.’,” Michele Francesconi recounts her "friendship" with her Open AI writing chatbot named Lyric.
