Caregivers at Northern California Providence hospitals & health centers are picketing tomorrow Wednesday, Feb 12th from 3-6pm to fight for safe staffing levels and protect vital services.

Join the picket line at St. Joseph Hospital in Eureka (2700 Dolbeer St) and stand with our healthcare heroes.

Workers are fighting back against the loss of birthing centers, urgent care centers and rehabilitation centers as Providence, the nation’s fifth largest nonprofit hospital system, also faces labor unrest in Oregon and fallout from a charity care scandal.

More than 2,000 healthcare workers at Providence hospitals and hospices throughout Northern California are holding their first region-wide Day of Action to call attention to severe understaffing and sharp cuts to health services in communities that are dependent on Providence for their medical care.

What: Informational picket to protest unsafe staffing and missing pay

When: Thursday, Aug. 11, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Where: St. Joseph Hospital, 2700 Dolbeer St., Eureka, CA (Corner of Harrison Ave. & St. Joseph Ln.)

“In addition to the unsafe working conditions that jeopardize patient safety, nurses have been contending with egregious payroll errors since June 19, 2022, when Providence implemented a new payroll system, touted as an upgrade to the previous system,” according to a news release from the CNA. “Hundreds of nurses have been affected by these errors, which include missing pay for shifts, incorrect pay rates, incorrect deductions, and errors in paid time off. Since the new time-keeping system was implemented, Providence has received more than 77,000 HR requests systemwide from employees.”

Granada workers represented by SEIU 2015 need community support!

Tomorrow, Wednesday March 9th we're going to have a picket in front of Granada, 2885 Harris St, Eureka, 1pm to 3:30p.

Granada refuses to negotiate better wages and working conditions instead choosing to pay minimum wage to most of its staff.

These are the workers responsible for the care and well-being of those unable to do it themselves, ask while Granada refuses to recognize the care they need to provide it's workers.

The members of SEIU 2015 would appreciate your support .
