Robert “Bob” Charles Martin, 76, of Pacific, Missouri, passed away on March 19, 2026, in Pacific, Missouri.
Bob was born on July 27, 1949, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Ruby Delmain White. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruby Delmain White, and stepfather, Ernest White, both of Allenton, Missouri; his sister, Linda White Gasperson of Eureka, Missouri; his brothers-in-law, Charles Gasperson and Thomas Helton; his lifelong best friend, Gary Collins; and many other friends and loved ones.
He is survived by his sister, Marilyn White Helton of Wright City, Missouri; his nieces, Teresa Gasperson Stauffer of Warrenton, Missouri and Stephanie White Mansfield of Wentzville, Missouri; Uncles Bernard Delmain of Lonedell, Missouri and Darrell Delmain of Salem, Missouri; and dear and loyal friends who stood by him until the very end, Randy White, Garrett Collins, and Jennifer Collins.
Bob attended Eureka High School, where his 6’4” height made him a natural on the basketball court. He graduated in 1968.
At just 18 years old, Bob enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. While serving overseas, he was wounded in action and later attained the rank of Specialist Fourth Class (SP4).
After returning home, Bob continued his love of sports by playing on a local softball team. He later spent many dedicated years working as a custodian for the Rockwood School District.
Bob will be remembered for his wisdom, his strong opinions, and his sharp, insightful sense of humor that those close to him knew well. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Services will be held at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery on Friday, April 17, 2026, at 12:00 p.m.
