To plant a tree is to believe in tomorrow. To seed growers, that saying holds true for every flower and vegetable seed that is placed in the ground. Gardening is Hope, Dirt and God’s promises all mixed together.

The regular monthly meeting met on Friday, January 3, hostesses were Vicki Lindsey and Sue McDonald, at TNT Catering for lunch at 11:30. Following lunch Marsha Evenson visited with the club about her plans for opening her new business, a floral shop, to continue these needs of our community. The business meeting was called to order with eight members answering roll call and one guest. The mini garden  committee report stated the winter cleanup following December’s meeting went well and is ready for spring. Door prizes were awarded to Marilyn Seymour and Kathy Jackson. The program was given by Sheila Hughes, showing members how to repurpose old vases, jars and cans with spackling and paint. The meeting was adjourned by standing and repeating “The Gardeners Creed”. Next month’s meeting will be held on February 7th at TNT Catering for the luncheon at 11:30. Our club is still actively building our membership so if interested please reach out and be our guest to see if it’s something you would like to join.

Eureka Garden Club met Friday, December 6, at TNT for the luncheon and business meeting. Prior to this the club went to the Greenwood Hotel to view the Greenwood County Hospital Foundation Festival of Trees and Greenwood Co Museum’s Christmas Displays for the program. After lunch Vicki Lindsey, President called the meeting to order. She expressed appreciation to Rise Russin & Patricia Soule for being hostesses. Ten members and one associate member answered roll call. Sheila Hughes made a motion to clean the Mini Garden after the meeting. Several members went to prepare it for the winter months. Two Hostess Gifts were presented as door prizes. and won by Loria Howard and Diana Yows. The next monthly meeting will be held Friday, January 3, with Vicki Lindsey & Sue McDonald as hostesses. The meeting was adjourned by standing and reciting the “Gardeners Creed”.
The Club is trying to grow membership so if anyone would be interested reach out and we would love to have you as a guest.
