DALE LOWTRIP CERAMICS

Floyd Bettiga Gallery - June 2026

at the Morris Graves Museum of Art

OPENING RECEPTION: ARTS ALIVE! SATURDAY JUNE 6, 6-9pm

"For the month of June, Canvas + Clay Studio and Gallery artist Dale Lowtrip will show his whimsical ceramic art collection in the Floyd Bettiga Gallery at the Morris Graves Museum of Art. Lowtrip, a 78 year old resident of Arcata, has been creating his Humboldt inspired animal sculpture at Canvas + Clay Studio for 12 years. His art background and interest in animals spans back farther, as he took art and wood shop classes in high school, does carpentry and art in his spare time, and worked at the HSU Forestry Lab for nearly 40 years. Lowtrip’s process is painstaking. He uses small carving tools to make hundreds of deliberate etchings into the surface of his sculptures. This creates a texture that simulates fur and feathers, but is actually composed of tiny drawings featuring flowers, birds, people and more."

HCBS and Your Rights is coming to Eureka!

This hands-on, interactive workshop will support people who receive services from Redwood Coast Regional Center in understanding and envisioning their HCBS rights.

In this training, attendees will learn about this important set of rights and how to advocate for them in their own lives. We will then do a vision-boarding activity for participants to explore what the rights could look like in their lives. All trainees will leave with a folder of advocacy tools and a vision board that can help them communicate what's important to them.

Food and drink will be provided to participants. Please note: this is not a training for service providers or staff. However, support staff are welcome to assist participants.

To register, please RSVP and share any dietary or accessibility needs we should know about. You can also call us at (415) 484-9526.
