On Tuesday, August 25, 2026 the Top Hand Youth Rodeo Association was awarded a $7,500 grant from the Tim Underwood Memorial. This is the fifth year that the association has been chosen to receive this grant. The grant money has been used to purchase prizes, including custom saddles and belt buckles, for the All Around winners in the association. They have also purchased new equipment to help put on the youth rodeo safely and efficiently.

Tim Underwood was employed with HF Sinclair of El Dorado, Kansas when he was in a tragic accident that took his life. Through an annual golf tournament, committee members have raised over $2 million over the years to give back to local non profits in his memory.

Top Hand Youth Rodeo Association is celebrating their fifth year of youth rodeo at the Eureka Saddle Club Arena in Eureka. Their Finals weekend is scheduled for September 5-6, 2026. Over 100 youth from 4 different states have participated this year in roping, timed events and rough stock events. The Finals Weekend rodeos will begin at 9 am both September 5 and 6. Concessions are available and there is no charge to watch. The public is invited to attend and cheer on the future of the rodeo sport. More information can be found at tophandyouthrodeo.com.

We are very thankful to the Underwood Family and the Memorial Golf Tournament committee members for supporting Top Hand. And also appreciate all the Top Hand families that choose to rodeo together in Eureka.
