Who's Your Teacher?! Find out Tomorrow Friday Sept 4th!

Your child’s classroom assignment will be sent out with a welcome e-mail from their teacher on Friday, September 4th at 4:00 PM!

Student Placement Process:
Please note there is a lot of collaboration and thought that goes into this process to make sure classes are balanced. Each year grade level teams, previous teachers, specialists, case managers, behavior support team and the administration make decisions about classroom placements in the spring for the following school year.

It is because of this complexity 4J schools cannot implement teacher requests from parents. Our Willagillespie administration and staff want to ensure a safe, successful and positive learning environment, so if parents wish to share information about their child, this information will be passed on to their classroom teacher.

Willagillespie Student Drop Off & Pick Up

During the first week of school, the parking lot will be very busy as we adjust to the new year. It's highly encouraged to walk, bike or bus to school in order to lessen the congestion.

The safety of our students is a top priority. Please Be VERY CAREFUL, and patient in the parking lot, and always watch for children, WillaG staff, and other members of our WillaG community.

Per the image:
There is a Two-Lane entrance off Abbie Lane, please stay to the right and keep the bus entrance clear
As you progress in the parking lot there will be a Willagillespie staff member to assist with directing cars to merge around the corner
Once you round the corner and are along the playground fence please stay on the right hand side for student pick up
The left lane should not be blocked and is to remain open as cars exit the parking lot
The green lane indicates cars that are awaiting Students for pick up

The school parking lot is an “Idle Free Zone.” so please turn off your vehicle while waiting.

Willagillespie Family Handbook Highlights

Willagillespie administration with collaboration from our site council, have developed a Willagillespie Parent Handbook for school information, processes and procedures. Please review the handbook with your student to help prepare for a smooth start of the school year.

Willagillespie Community School Garden

Thank you to all our volunteers today; it was a small but mighty crew! How impressive are the before and "in progress" pictures!
We know our students and teachers will enjoy using the Willagillespie Garden throughout the year!

There is certainly more to do, so if you weren't able to join today please keep your eyes and ears open for more volunteering opportunities with our WillaG PTO!

Garden Project Hope

A clutter free room is a great environment for learning!

Please consider donating to one of our Willagillespie teacher's causes! In addition to staff changes last spring, some of our teachers are also transitioning into new rooms. This is ALOT of work!

How the Project will help: Student cubbies help to keep childrens essential items such as their crayons, markers, pencils and notebooks neat. This project would be very helpful for the students to stay organized, and keep a tidy classroom. It also provides them a sense of self ownership for their part of the classroom, which teaches responsibility.

Just in time for BACK TO SCHOOL, our new covered area and Gagaball pit are officially opened! These were just a few enhancements made to our school over the summer!

You may have also noticed a lot of work on the school roof this summer. Willagillespie installed a new HVAC system; which we know our students and teachers will enjoy! We also had fresh paint sprayed in the drop off and pick up parking lot. Look at those clean bright lines!

Thank you to all the amazing crews who helped to make our school better and more inviting!

Lastly, we've had a lot of questions about the Willagillespie School Community Garden. We're planning a work day in the near future so if you're interested please respond below and let us know so we can provide details!
