A free book every month, delivered right to your door — from birth to age five. Today, Gov. Kotek signed House Bill 4022, establishing the Oregon Imagination Library Program. DELC is honored to collaborate with the Dolly Parton Imagination Library to implement this program for Oregon kids and families.

☀️📚 Summer reading season is officially underway!

June books from the Imagination Library of Oregon are on their way to mailboxes across the state, bringing new adventures, imagination, and opportunities for families to read together.

Whether it's a story before bedtime, a book packed for vacation, or reading in the backyard on a sunny afternoon, every page helps build a lifelong love of reading.

Not enrolled yet? Families with children under age 5 can check eligibility and sign up to receive free books each month.

This June, we’re celebrating something incredibly special — 13 local Imagination Library program anniversaries across Oregon! 🎉📚

June has become our biggest month for launching new local programs, with:
✨ 11 programs launched in June 2018
✨ 1 program launched in June 2019
✨ 2 programs launched in June 2021

Each anniversary represents a community that stepped forward and said:
“Yes — books for kids matter here.”

Because of these amazing local partners, thousands of Oregon children are growing up with books in their homes, storytime routines with loved ones, and the opportunity to build a lifelong love of reading.
