Happy 🛠️ !

Last week, our field technicians conducted tower training with hands-on practice in tower rescue demonstrations, haul techniques, rigging a dish and mast properly, and knot-tying practice.

Training like this helps ensure our team is prepared to safely support the critical monitoring infrastructure that protects Oregon!

It’s 🔥

Last week kicked off the start of the fire season with the Pine Mountain Fire near Bend. The fire’s footprint reached 2,589 acres.

OHAZ’s Pine Mountain camera was right next to the flames and captured some amazing imagery of the fire and the crews working to contain it.

📍As of May 13, 2026 the fire is at 100% containment

We recently had the privilege of spending the afternoon with State Treasurer, Dr. Elizabeth Steiner!

During our discussion, we emphasized the critical importance of our multi-hazards network in protecting Oregon’s residents and natural landscapes. We also highlighted the strong partnerships we have cultivated with various agencies, utilities, and companies to enhance our collective resilience. Collaborating across sectors is essential to ensuring the safety and sustainability of our communities.

Thanks again Dr. Steiner for visiting us at OHAZ!

🛠️ It’s and we’ve got a new wildfire detection camera!

This week, technicians made their way back up to Washington to install the McClure camera.

🌲The recent Washington cameras wouldn’t be possible without our partnership with the U.S. Forest Service! We’re excited to continue deploying cameras into Washington to help their emergency response, and expand wildfire detection cameras throughout the West!

📸 You can watch McClure and OHAZ's 70+ cameras on ALERTWest.live and the Watch Duty App
