Congratulations to Melissa Koke, the Eugene Area Chamber of Commerce's 2026 Woman Business Leader of the Year! Melissa is not only a fourth-generation owner and CEO of Koke New Century Companies (QSL Print Communications) but also an amazing community member and a longtime supporter of Cascade Health and Pete Moore Hospice House. QSL's long-standing sponsorship of Festival of Trees is even more meaningful this year as Melissa and her mother, Nancy Koke, are serving as the event's honorary chairs. We are thrilled to have them on board and thrilled to see this well-deserved recognition!

The flowers family members and friends share with loved ones at Pete Moore Hospice House are nothing short of stunning. (That's unit clerk Nicki showing off one of the lovely bouquets.) We love bringing a beautiful, bright piece of summer indoors. 🌺

What amazing turnout for this year's Toast to Life! Seeing our community come together to support Pete Moore Hospice House made our hearts full - and the perfect weather, gorgeous space at The Country Inn, and beyond-delicious food and drink from our incredible restaurant partners made it even better.

Congratulations to Prime Time Sports Bar and Grill for taking home the Sparkly Spatula *and* the Glittery Goblet for favorite food and drink. Also serving up delectable morsels and tasty libations were Domek Bistro & Lounge, Oakway Catering, Southpine Bakery & Cafe, ColdFire Brewing Company, Antiquum Farm, and Chef James McClelland. Danceable music was courtesy of The Side Hustle.

We raised a toast to the loved ones no longer with us - and to the late John Lawless, the architect behind the hospice house. John's wife Lori spoke from the heart and brought tears to our eyes.

Huge thanks to our Golden Goblet sponsors, Radiology Associates, Sittner & Nelson, and Bigfoot Beverages - as well as to all our Silver Spatula and Bronze Bottle Sponsors, Gray's Garden Centers, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Axelliant, and . . . YOU. Every single person who attended played a role in keeping end-of-life care available to families in Lane County. Thank you.

Why do we 💜 Hearts for Hospice?

🫶They support compassionate end-of-life care in our area with grants to nonprofits that provide hospice, palliative care, and related services. (In our case, it was a game-changing grant allowing Pete Moore Hospice House purchase new, easy-to-clean loveseats for patient rooms!)
🫶 They make it easy for YOU to help, too - by volunteering or by donating items to their resale shop (444 Main) or warehouse (4460 Main).
🫶 Their scholarships support students pursuing careers in critical fields like hospice, palliative care, grief counseling, and end-of-life education.

For those reasons (and many more), we were honored to invite Hearts for Hospice volunteers to an appreciation event yesterday at the hospice house. Thank you, Hearts for Hospice, for joining us - and for the work you do every day. 🩵
