Lunch with a purpose! Today we attended the Bethel Education Foundation’s Lunch Break event to support our neighbors doing great work for Bethel students.

Thank you to KEZI 9 News for sharing about EEF's 2026-27 grants to Eugene School District 4J!

The Eugene Education Foundation gave Eugene School District 4J a check for $212,599 earlier this month to support classrooms across the district for the 2026-27 school year.

Your gift is their discovery.

In classrooms across Eugene School District 4J, a good microscope can be the difference between reading about cells and actually seeing one. Students examine onion skin, pond water, and their own cheek cells, and start asking the questions that lead to real scientific thinking. Every gift to the Eugene Education Foundation helps teachers bring hands-on tools like these to more students, in every school. Thank you!

"I can keep this book forever? Like to my house to keep?"

That's a real quote from Gael, a student at River Road Elementary, holding their very own Dog Man book after picking it out through the Caught Reading program. Thanks to an EEF grant, students there earn tickets for sustained silent reading and trade them in for brand new books of their own. Nearly 1,000 books went home with kids last year. For some, like Gael, it was the first book they'd ever owned.

This morning, EEF presented Eugene School District 4J with a check for $212,599, covering 2026-2027 enrichment grants, our artists in residence commitment, and classroom supplies for the 2026-27 school year.
And this is just a glimpse of what we hope to do this year!
None of it happens without our educators, donors, and community. Thank you for backing 4J students.
