đź‘“ More space, more capacity, and decades of impact behind it.

We were proud to celebrate Laurel Hill Center, SWEEP Optical, and Evergreen Eyewear as they opened SWEEP Optical’s newly expanded and renovated facility in Eugene. Guests even got an inside look at how glasses are made, from the optical lab to the finished product.

For more than 50 years, Laurel Hill Center has supported people in our community, and for more than 30 years, SWEEP Optical has been making glasses while helping support that larger mission. Today, revenue from optical sales helps fund Laurel Hill Center’s work in mental health services, housing, employment, and other programs that help people build greater stability and independence.

This new space creates more room for SWEEP Optical to grow production while bringing optical services and Evergreen Eyewear together under one roof.
A special thank you to Executive Director Shawn Murphy for her leadership and contributions to our community, and to the many partners whose collaboration helped make this milestone possible. đź’š

Turns out networking is a little more fun when someone hands you an instrument. 🎻🎺

Last year’s Business After Hours at Brenner's Furniture & Mattress with the Eugene Symphony Association had Chamber members stepping outside their comfort zones and trying their hand at the Instrument Petting Zoo.

On October 22, we’re doing it all again, with live music from the Eugene Symphony string quartet, delicious food from Smok'n Gingers BBQ, $3000+ in raffle prizes and, of course, another chance to pick up an instrument yourself.

One of the best parts of Chamber membership is getting to know the people behind the businesses and organizations that make our community what it is. đź’š

A recent Ambassador visit gave us a chance to connect with A.Gilbert Books and Balance, which provides remote bookkeeping support to small business owners, helping bring clarity and organization to a part of running a business that can often feel overwhelming.

We’re glad to have them as part of a Chamber community that includes businesses, nonprofits, creatives, and service providers of all kinds. Today, we’re celebrating:

A long-vacant downtown property is one step closer to becoming 133 new homes! 🎉

Last week, the City of Eugene completed the property transfer for 1059 Willamette Street, advancing a redevelopment project that will bring housing, commercial space, and new activity to downtown Eugene.

The milestone reflects years of collaboration between public, private, and community partners and supports Elevate 2028's goal of breaking down barriers to quality of life and place through increased housing and stronger, more vibrant neighborhoods. It also reflects the Chamber's ongoing work to advocate for policies and projects that accelerate housing production and support employers struggling with housing-related workforce challenges.

🦷 Local kids now have something to smile about: a pediatric dentistry office just for them! Congratulations to Oakmont Family Dental on the grand opening of Oakmont Kids Pediatric Dentistry 🎉 We were proud to celebrate this exciting milestone with their team alongside our friends at the Springfield Chamber of Commerce, community members, and a special appearance from the Eugene Emeralds’ Sluggo.

We also had the opportunity to get a peek inside the beautiful new facility and learn more about the vision behind the practice. With a dedicated pediatric dentistry office designed to help children feel comfortable and confident during dental visits, Oakmont Kids is focused on creating positive experiences that support lifelong oral health.

Investments like this expand healthcare options for local families while contributing to a strong and growing community.
